Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s Ino

Available on October 13, Ino is a brand-new Hero character coming toXenoblade Chronicles 3. Being designated as a Hero, that would suggest that Ino will be able to recruited as a seventh party member, right alongside Noah, Mio, andthe rest of theXenoblade Chronicles 3crew. Much like the rest of the recruitable Heroes in the game, it seems likely that players will first need to complete Ino’s specific Hero Quest before she’s added to the party. This does mean, however, that the player will need to swap out their current Hero for Ino once she’s unlocked.

Though not a lot is currently known about Ino, there are a few details that fans have found out so far. The most important of which is that Ino is an Artificial Blade. IntheXenobladeuniverse, a Blade is a weaponized life form that is closely bonded with a Driver, another being that is capable of summoning them and using their elemental powers. While most Blades are born naturally from Core Crystals, an Artificial Blade is instead created using an Ether Furnace.

Due to their method of creation, an Artificial Blade does not have a true Driver, but is instead controlled by a person that is simply acting as one with an artificial hold over them. But despite the bond betweenan Artificial Blade and a Driverbeing manually created, it functions almost identically to a naturally formed bond, allowing the Driver to use the Artificial Blade’s powers. However, this also means that the mortal link between the two is also present. While a Blade is theoretically immortal, they die when their Driver dies.

Ino is bringing a new class toXenoblade Chronicles 3, that being the Noponic Champion class. Belonging tothe general Defender class, it seems likely that Ino will specialize in distracting the enemy so that healers and damage-dealers can do their job unharmed. Ino also has a unique special ability called Inoswap, which allows her to upgrade and learn Arts and Skills by spending HD Ether Cylinders+.
