Despite launching with an already massive roster of 168 current and former WWE superstars, WWE and 2K Games have not been shy in showing how much biggerWWE 2K22’s roster will become thanks to its post-launch DLC packs. Players already know they can get their hands on five upcoming packs adding another five to seven wrestlers each, kicking off with theBanzai Packon April 26. As the pack’s name implies, the centerpiece of this pack will be the late, great Yokozuna, and 2K Games has given players a first proper look at how the ’90s wrestling star will appear in-game.

WWE 2K22is the ninth game from 2K Games as part of its long-running partnership with WWE and the first title since the much-malignedWWE 2K20. As mentioned above, the game featured the largest playable roster at launch for any WWE game in history, featuring an all-star roster of legends, current stars, and even some who now find themselves in AEW, New Japan Pro-Wrestling, and other companies. It also saw the return of a general manager mode with MyGM, joining the career mode renamed MyRISE and the 2K Showcase options.

Ahead of the Banzai Pack’s release,2K Gamesgave a proper look at Yokozuna in-game with a screenshot on the game’s official Twitter. The image features the Samoan wrestling icon wearing his famous checkered kimono he wore forWrestlemania 9, where he defeated hall of famer Bret Hart for the WWE Championship before quickly being beaten by Hulk Hogan.

The 2-time WWE Champion was widely considered by the wrestling community to be one of the greatest “big men” in the history of the business during his prime in WWE from 1992 to 1994. Yokozuna was the top heel in the company as the seemingly unbeatable sumo wrestler who ran rough-shot over most of the roster during those years, defeating the likes of Hulk Hogan,The Undertaker, Bret Hart, and Lex Luger. However, he ultimately passed away on August 07, 2025, at the age of 34 after years of struggling to control his growing weight and the toll it took on his body.

Yokozuna isn’t the only Samoan star set to join the roster, either, as the Banzai Pack will also feature Rikishi and Umaga who, like Yokozuna, are also members of the famous Anoa’i family, which includesDwayne Johnson, Roman Reigns, and The Usos, to name a few. Omos will also be making his video game debut in the pack, letting players become the towering 7-foot-3 superstar. However, more acrobatically-minded players may instead choose NXT star and formerAmerican Ninja Warriorcompetitor Kacy Catanzaro.

WWE 2K22is currently available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
