As they point out, every Pokemon listed happens to belong to generations five through seven, thougha potential remake ofPokemon Black and Whitecould bring an end to their days of being stored away in Pokemon Home. The list includes the Snivy and Tepig lines, the only remaining starters to not be transmittable — The Oshawott line was included inPokemon Legends: Arceus.

While Pokemon like the Kalos-region starters — Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie — are not currently inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, dataminers have discovered their source codes in the game, and could potentially start appearing in the Paldea region as soon asthe announcedPokemon Homeupdateis released, unlocking a wide variety of new additions to the game. Set for Spring of 2023, Pokemon trainers will have the capability of bringing over past-generation Pokemon intoPokemon Scarlet and Violet, expanding the game’s roster and creating new possibilities for team building and tera-form construction.

Developer Game Freak has not made any announcement regarding why these specific Pokemon have yet to be included in any Switch game, nor has it made any reference to another remake or a potentialPokemon Legends: Arceussequel, but that hasn’t stopped players from speculating. Although the fifth generation of Pokemon appears to be the most prominent one featured, there are stilla number of Pokemon missing from each generation, such as the originalPokemon Blue and Redshowcasing just 43 of the original 151 Pokemon. For now, players will have to remain patient and tend to their Pokemon insidePokemon Homeuntil the day they are free from the shackles of the mobile and Switch app.
