While this isn’t the firstWalking Deadthemed VR game to be created, based on what was shown in the reveal trailer,Onslaughtseems to have a lot more structure. Now, further details regarding the game’s mechanics and story have fans even more curious and excited for the game’s release.

InThe Walking Dead: Onslaughtplayers will be rebuilding Alexandria, one of the multiple survivor communities featured inThe Walking Dead. The game will have players going out into the world to find supplies and resources in order to support other survivors and build new structures within Alexandria, as well as building improvements to other existing structures.Of all theWalking Deadgames to come out, it seems like this one will certainly give players a greater sense of agency.
Though, what’s even more interesting is the point in the timeline the game takes place in. During seasons 8 and 9 ofThe Walking DeadTV series, there was a somewhat large time skip. This game will fill in the gap in time between season 8 and season 9 of the TV series. For anyone who was confused in terms of the time skip, this should certainly help and potentially offer insight in terms of the fate ofRick Grimes.
Ever sinceOnslaughtwas first announced, many in the gaming community immediately gravitated towards it. The gameplay trailer featured dynamic gameplay and a setting closely resembling the one in the TV series. Now, that all of these additional details have begun to surface regarding gameplay and story, this game is starting to look very promising.
The initial gameplay trailer in particular was quite head turning. The combat and fluidity looks similar toHalf-Life Alyxand now that the gameplay has a more complicated structure outside of killing zombies, it seems like this game will be sure to deliver in plenty of ways. Only time will tell, if this game or its story will lead to any kind of impressive outcome.
