Summary

Starfieldplayers can get the Mark 1 Spacesuit very early in the game. WithStarfieldbeing set in space, it doesn’t have traditional “armor” that players usually find in Bethesda RPGs. Instead, the armor inStarfieldtakes the form of spacesuits, packs, and astronaut helmets that players can mix and match to their liking.

Anyone that wants to stand a good shot at surviving againstStarfield’s various enemy factionsand dangerous alien creatures will certainly want to make sure they have the best gear possible. There are slim pickings early inStarfield, but a recently-discovered trick lets players get their hands on a high-quality suit at the very beginning of the main quest.

As pointed out by Patrick Maka on Twitter,Starfieldplayers can get the Mark 1 Spacesuit, Mark 1 Pack, and Mark 1 Space Helmet early in the game. This suit is found in The Lodge’s basement on a mannequin in a glass display that’s secured with a Master-level lock. Typically,Starfieldplayers would have to have Rank 3 in Securityjust to be able to attempt picking the lock with their digipicks, but it’s been discovered that placing the cursor in just the right spot lets players circumvent the lock and get the spacesuit.

Getting the Mark 1 Spacesuitand its associated pack and helmet can be done as soon as players are given the Lodge Key, which they get after joining up with Constellation and getting started with the main quest proper. To find the basement, simply enter The Lodge and take the first door on the right. Head down the stairs and then take a left in the next room, which will leave players facing a bathroom. Then take a right and go all the way to the next wall to wind up in a small storage room. The suit will be sitting in the corner. It’s not even close to the best suit in the game, but it’s definitely one of the better ones players can get in the early hours.

Bethesda obviously did not intend for players to be able to bypass the glass and take this powerfulStarfieldsuit at the very beginning of the game, and so it’s possible this exploit will be patched out in a future update. Bethesda has not provided any specifics as to what it plans to do with futureStarfieldupdates, but more information on that front should come to light in the weeks and months ahead.

As more players get their hands onStarfield, it’s possible that even more exploits like this one will be discovered.Starfield’s official release dateis right around the corner, and so soon the floodgates will open for the massive open world sci-fi game.
