A new mod is out forMarvel’s Spider-Manthat lets players swap out good ol’ Peter Parker with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This might make it one of the more appropriate mods to have come out forMarvel’s Spider-Man, since, aside from Spidey himself, few fictional characters are as synonymous with New York City as Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo. It’s only been a few weeks sinceSpider-Man Remasteredcame to PC, bringing Insomniac’s hit open-world superhero game into the hands of modders, yet they’ve been going absolutely crazy with it. Numerous mods have popped up within the past month, mostly focusing on giving players new character skins to don, ranging from new Spider-suits to cameos from Stan Lee, other Marvel heroes, ormore unusual characters like Kermit the Frog.RELATED:Cool Marvel’s Spider-Man Mod Adds Black Panther To The GameNow players can add the Heroes in a Half-Shell to that list, thanks to a mod created by SpaceDasher. Released over the weekend, it brings all four turtles into the fold, letting players pick their favorite ninja brother to fight crime and sling webs across New York. According to SpaceDasher, the character models are taken from theMOBASmitewhich featured aTMNTcrossoversome time back, but have been reworked extensively to fit both Spider-Man’s animations and the game’s atmosphere.

The results, as shown in the screenshots and videos SpaceDasher has shared, are very impressive. The Ninja Turtles might not be known for shooting webs out of their hands, but they fit in well with navigating sewers stealthily, doing parkour across rooftops, and laying the beatdown on criminals like Spider-Man. It certainly makes for a more believable experience than, say, the mod that lets playersplay as Uncle Ben’s gravestone.

What’s more, SpaceDasher says they’re not done just yet. They have plans to include new skins based on a few different incarnations of the turtles that have been introduced over the years. These include the ones fromRise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the two animated series from 2003 and 2012, and the 2007TMNTmovie. They didn’t say when these alternate skins might start showing up, though.

It’s been a pretty busy few months for the Ninja Turtles in video games. The retro-style beat-em-upTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revengereleased back in June to a warm reception from critics and fans, and the past week saw not only a crossover withKnockout Citybut another release inTMNT: The Cowabunga Collection. And it looks like things will get even busier next year, as it was recently announced thata AAATMNTgame is planned to come out in 2023. Of course, that begs the question of whether it will play anything like how the turtles play inMarvel’s Spider-Man.

Marvel’s Spider-Man Remasteredis available for PC and PS5.
