Sifuwas released on February 8 and was met with positive reviews from both critics and players thanks to its challenging and deep combat, rewarding progression, immersive environments, and competent AI. Developed by Sloclap, the same team behind the martial arts multiplayer gameAbsolver,Sifuis a tale of a child’s quest for vengeance for the death of their father. The latest update forSifuhas brought several new features into the game. Perhaps most notable is the inclusion of multiple new difficulty settings: Student, Disciple, and Master. This should come as a relief to players who have been hoping for adjustable difficulty inSifu. The originaldefault difficulty ofSifucorresponds to the Disciple difficulty, so players now have the option of an easier run with the Student setting or kicking it up a notch by opting for Master difficulty. Student difficulty increases life and structure for the player, reduces enemy aggression and reaction, simplifies boss patterns, and limits the death counter. Master difficulty does all the opposite, as well as introducing new patterns for bosses.
The new advanced training mode introduced with this update will also build up players’ Kung Foo skills thanks to the ability to face any enemy or boss they’ve defeated in the story, including facing several opponents at once. This addition should help players refine their strategies for facing trickier opponents on subsequent playthroughs. Several important quality of life improvements have also been implemented, such as the in-game menus now having a dark mode, ultrawide resolution support, and 5.1 surround sound support.PC players ofSifumay dodge and parrya little easier thanks to better mouse and keyboard support and HUD readability.
After over a million sales of the game since its release,Sifuhas proven to be a hit among fans of martial arts games, and its continued support through major updates shows that Sloclap is committed to refining its game according to player feedback. Players can expect futureSifuupdates to fix further bugs and add more features while the modding community is also hard at work creatinginteresting mods forSifu.
