Summary

Hearthstoneis releasing the Caverns of Time non-Standard card expansion next month. Between this set and the official release of the Twist format, September is gearing up to be a big month for WildHearthstoneplayers

Earlier this summer,Hearthstoneintroduced Twist–a new constructed format with monthly rotating rules. The only legal cards in this nostalgic format are from Legacy and any sets from up until Mean Streets of Gadgetzan, plus the new cards from Caverns of Time.

Caverns of Time includes 34 brand-new cards that have been designed specifically for the Wild and Twist formats. The cards in this expansion include powerful tools for old card archetypes like Jade Golem and C’Thun. However, because the sets in this new Twist format are from before Demon Hunter ofDeath Knight existed inHearthstone, these classes do not have any new cards in this expansion, and they will not be legal in the Wonders Twist ruleset.

In addition to the new cards from Caverns of Time, this update is buffing over 100 old cards. Many of the cards simply had Power, Health, or Mana cost adjustments to bring them in line with modernHearthstone, but other cards have received reworks using mechanics that didn’t exist when they were originally made. Like the new Caverns of Time set, these buffs will only affect the Wild and Twist formats, as none of the changed cards are currently legal inHearthstone’s Standard Year of the Wolf.

Hearthstoneis introducing Signature versionsof 15 cards from the past. These new collectibles feature full art alternatives to many iconic Legendary minions fromHearthstone’s history. Players can pull these Signatures in Caverns of Time packs alongside the new cards and buffed ones, though players can also get them in any other packs their original versions can appear in. The Caverns of Time set cards and buffs hitHearthstoneon August 31, and the official launch of Twist with the Wonders format launches on September 1.

Were this not exciting enough,Hearthstonejust released a huge Battlegrounds updatecalled Clash of Thunder. This patch added game-changing Anomalies that alter how a Battlegrounds game is played, such as by adding powerful Tier 7 minions to the pool. This update also included a handful of balance changes for several Standard cards from the Titans set, and is available inHearthstoneright now.

Hearthstoneis available on Mobile and PC.
