In less than one month, the PS5 will finally be commercially available for anyone that wants one. Despite how much the PS5 has been shown off already and how much information is readily available in terms of the console itself, there’s still one component that has yet to be unveiled: the PS5’s UI or menu layout. Though, assumedly, thanks to a special edition of a particular horror game, thePS5will feature a popular attribute seen on the PS4.

The majority of details regarding the PS5 have largely been announced throughout 2020, such as the consoles technical specs, how much it costs, the release date, and other similar details. However, the one thing that Sony has yet to unveil is the console’s UI. In fact, when Sony offeredhands-on preview events of the PS5 in Japan, it intentionally wouldn’t let people see the UI layout.

As of right now, nobody has any idea of what the PS5’s UI could look like. The only clues that people do have are based onpatents that Sony filed for the PS5, but again, without seeing the UI in person, there’s no way of really knowing what to expect. Although, a specialStranger Thingsedition ofDead by Daylightcould offer some insight in terms of the UI’s design.

On the official PlayStation store, the description forDead by Daylight: Stranger Things Editionlists out all of the standard content included in a special edition of the game, but one curious detail stands out at the very end. The last piece of content included in the list refers to a PS5 exclusiveStranger Thingstheme.

If this is true, then it means that dynamic themes will also be present on the PS5. While themes have been a commonality in PlayStation consoles since thePS3, the dynamic themes introduced on the PS4 blew many people away with how artistic and animated they were. To once again feature them on the PS5 would certainly make a lot of people happy.

It seems unlikely that the PS5’s UI will be shown off before the console officially launches. Perhaps Sony intends to have the UI be a special surprise for those who bought the console. For now, curious minds will have to contend withfan-made PS5 UI concept art. It won’t be much longer now until the console officially launches.

ThePS5is set to launch on November 12th, 2020.

Dead by Daylight: Stranger Things Editionis available now for Android, iOS, Nintendo Switch, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions currently in development.
