Chapter 6 ofResident Evil 4sees Leon and Ashley take on a number of deadly foes as they flee from the Ganados that pursue them under mysterious orders. Fighting hordes of enemies as well as the infection that is slowly subsuming them, this chapter brings the village segment ofResident Evil 4to a close with an explosive finale.
This guide will help players overcome the challenges ofResident Evil 4’s sixth chapter going over events from the beginning Checkpoint encounter to the Slaughterhouse boss battle.

Checkpoint
After players are reintroduced to the enigmatic Ada Wong, Leon takes acall from Hunnigan, explaining how the treacherous weather makes landing a helicopter impossible. Continue to walk forwards and follow the path around to the left as Leon and Ashley converse.
At the end of the path is a hut on the left containing a typewriter anda Merchant stall.Head around to the right and pass through the gate. In this area are a number of enemies, including a Cowhead and two Molotov-throwing Ganados. Take them out via stealth or with crowd control weaponry and press on through the valley. Make use of the elevated platforms if it helps, andwatch out for the bear traps littering the valley exit.
Head out onto a wooden walkway and explore the hut on the left forsome precious treasure, but beware of the villager preparing an ambush.Pass through the large gate and press onwards through the fortressuntil reaching a torchlit doorway. This door requires a key item to open, sotake a left and continue deeper through the checkpoint.
In another area are two torch-wielding Ganados patrolling. Deal with them or sneak by,taking the stairs up. To the left is a Yellow Herb that can increase Leon’s maximum health. Heading right, pass across the platform, and take another right at the end, dropping down into a small yard. Break off the two locks on either door and enter the house tofind the crank on a shelf there. Picking up the crank will trigger a cutscene where the Chainsaw Sisters will attack.
Defeating the Bella Sisters
to progress, Leon must defeatthe Chainsaw Sistersand retrieve the crank from their body. In this fight, not only will the two women come at Leon, but a number of Ganados will join their attack. To successfully defeat them, firstorder Ashley into the nearby locker, so players needn’t worry about her mid-fight. Secondly, head out of the confined building through either of the two doors to open up the arena.
This arena is rather large and contains a central structure around which players can loop the Ganados and maintain distance from the Sisters. First and foremost, players shouldtackle the Gandos without weapons; though they may not seem particularly threatening, their ability to grapple Leon from a fair distance away is a great cause for concern in this battle, where one unparried attack from a Chainsaw Sister can lead to an instakill.
With those Gandos out of the way, take the fight to the Sisters, hitting them withthe strongest ammunitionand explosives available. Among the villagers will be a good number of Plaga Guadaña, so it’s a good idea to craft some Flashbangs for this fight to instantly kill them once their heads explode.
With enough effort, the Bella Sisters will fall,the Checkpoint Crank can be retrieved from their body,and the large gate can be unlocked.

Running from Bitores Méndez
Following the path from the checkpoint, walk around the broken-down shack andascend the ramp at its rearto reach the roof and drop down inside. Smash the lock off the door and continue forward to open a gate and start another cutscene.
This next section requires the player torun from the imposing figurethat has been pursuing Leon sincethe end of Chapter 1. Run through the hordes of Gandos that appear, ensuring that Ashley isn’t grabbed by anyone, or the mission will fail.
Up the hill to the right, a group will rush at the pair.Shoot the explosive barrel on the rightto ensure they don’t block Leon’s path. Up ahead, the bridge will explode, forcing the pair to the left, where another scene will trigger.
Defeating Bitores Méndez
After escaping the ambush, follow the path up and to the right, where the pair will arrive at the Slaughterhouse, outside of which isanother typewriterand Merchant stall.Take the stairs up to the leftand head inside to the second floor. After turning a corner, a cutscene will play, and the fight with Leon’s relentless pursuer will begin.
Continually hit Méndez with powerful weapons,crouching under his telegraphed attacks, until he is stunned, at which point Leon can approach to stab him.
Eventually, Méndez’s body will split in two, and he will scurry to the back of the arena, throwing chunks of burning debris at Leon. Keep running to dodge his attacks, shooting whenever the opportunity arises. Soon enough, he will pick up some explosive barrels to throw at Leon that players can shoot out of his hands to damage him.
Next, Méndez will begin launching himself at Leon from afar. Keep dodging and hitting him with close-range weaponry when he comes in to attack. Alternatively, players can adopt the high ground by climbing the ladders behind them. By persevering, players should be capable of downing Méndez, bringing an end to thisbrutalResident Evilboss battle. Here,Ashley will break open a window to the left, allowing Leon to escape the burning building.
From the Slaughterhouse,take the path uphill and cross the drawbridgeto end the chapter.
