There’s no doubt that The Apparatus landmark was one of the main points of interest during this season. Gamers had tofind mysterious Prisms on theFortniteislandand bring them back to Trace, an NPC at The Apparatus, to complete hidden quests and receive seasonal XP. This made it obvious that this location would hold some sort of importance, even if it remained unknown for such a long time. It seems that the purpose of The Apparatus may become clear very soon, and it could be related to the upcomingFortniteseason. Players have noticed that recently, The Apparatus has changed as it started to cast a pink beam into the sky.
For now, players aren’t sure what this could mean for the storyline, but it could be similar to theRift Gate incident at the end of Chapter 4 Season 1. The machine seems to be pointing the beam directly into the sky, so it could be summoning new characters that could join everyone on the island, or it could be bringing in something bigger that could lead to a major end-of-season event.
