And while some Pokemon fans may enjoy this added difficulty, others simply want to enjoy catching their favorite Pokemon.

Unfortunately, before players can gain access to all 400 Pokemon inPokemon Scarlet & Violet, they must defeat the final boss, Professor Sada (Scarlet) or Professor Turo (Violet). The good news is thatPokemon Scarlethas plenty of Pokemon that can help them score their final win.
6Dragonite
Dragonite has been a staple Pokemon in almost every competitive team, so it’s no surprise that it should be included in the final battle. But, Dragonite inPokemon Scarlet & Violethas an additional trick up its sleeve thatearns it the right to be an OP Pokemon. And that’s because its Ability “Adaptability” doubles the effectiveness of STAB (Same-type Attack Bonus) moves.
Dragonite is the perfect counter for Professor Sada’s Slither Wing (an Ancient Paradox Volcarona) due to its Dragon- and Flying-type stats. Players should teach Dragonite Draco Meteor (Dragon-type) and Hurricane (Flying-type) since these moves pack a punch against Bug- and Fighting-type Pokemon. As for Nature, Brave is undoubtedly the best one since it boosts Attack by 10%. Players could opt for Adamant, but it also lowers Special Attack, which isn’t something players want for Dragonite.
5Garchomp
Yet another Pseudo-Legendary Pokemon that should be used in the final battle is Garchomp since it has one of the highest un-boosted Base Attacks (130) inPokemon Scarlet & Violet. Players can further increase Gachomp’s Base Attack by changing its Nature to Adamant (+10% Attack/-10% Special Attack). Fortunately, finding a Gible isn’t too difficultas long as players know where to look.

Another reason why Garchomp is top-tier is its “Serene Grace” ability since it increases the chances of lowering stats, status effects, and flinching (truly one of the best abilities inPokemon Scarlet and Violet). Garchomp is the best counter for Professor Sada’s Sandy Shocks (Paradox Magneton), especially considering Paradox Magneton takes double the damage from Ground-type Pokemon.
4Gholdengo
Gholdengo is undoubtedly one of the oddest Generation 9 Pokemon, mostly because it looks like a golden inflatable tube-man while itsfirst evolution looks like a tiny ghoul. Nonetheless, Gholdengo is a powerful Steel- and Ghost-type Pokemon that can make quick work of Professor Sada’s Flutter Mane (Paradox Misdreavus). And while Flutter Mane is also a Ghost-type Pokemon, Gholdengo deals double damage thanks to its secondary type (Steel).
Players that want to use Gholdengo in the final battle will want to ensure it has the ability “Good as Gold.” And that’s because this Hidden ability grants Gholdengo immunity to Status Moves, like Memento, Curse, and Strength Sap. Once players find a Gholdengo with that ability, then they’ll see why it’sone of the best Gen-9 Ghost-type PokemoninScarlet and Violet.
3Baxcalibur
Baxcalibur is one of theonly dual-type Dragon-type Pokemon that is also an Ice-type Pokemon, making it extremely valuable for most competitive battles (and especially for the final battle). Baxcalibur has the highest Base Attack (145) of all Dragon-type Pokemon, meaning it can potentially be an OHKO (One Hit Knockout) Pokemon. Players should pair Baxcalibur with Adamant Nature since it boosts Attack by 10%.

Baxcalibur is the best counter against Professor Sada’s Brute Bonnet (Paradox Amoonguss) during the final battle inPokemon Scarlet. Players should teach their Baxcalibur either Draco Meteor or Outrage, just like the previously mentioned Dragon-type Pokemon. And for players that want to skip the training phase, some 5-Star and 6-Star Tera Raids can potentially spawn, featuring Baxcalibur oreven the coveted Salamence.
2Kingambit
Players that enjoyusing Dark-type Pokemonalready know why Kingambit is among the best Pokemon for the final battle. And that’s because of Kingambit’s Hidden ability “Pressure,” which forces the opponent to use 2 PP instead of 1. That means players can quickly nullify (by reducing to 0 its moves PP) an opponent Pokemon, allowing players to win without breaking a sweat.
Alternatively, the “Supreme Overlord” ability can be useful if the player’s team is mostly KO’d (except for Kingambit) since it boosts Kingambit’s Attack and Special Attack per fainted ally. Kingambit is a good choice against Professor Sada’s Scream Tail (Paradox Jigglypuff) since it’s weak against Steel-type Pokemon.
1Florges
Florges is often overlooked because most players view it as a “B-Tier"Fairy-type Pokemon inPokemon Scarlet & Violet. And while that may be true, Florges is extremely effective against Dragon-type Pokemon, like Professor Sada’s Roaring Moon (Salamence Paradox). And that’s mainly because Dragon-type Pokemon receive 4x more damage from Fairy-type moves than any other move-type.
So, players will want to equip Florges with top-tier Fairy-type moves, like Moonblast and Dazzling Gleam. Calm Mind is another decent Fairy-type move players should consider using on Florges, as it boosts Special Attack and Special Defense. Another additional benefit of using Florges in the final battle against Professor Sada is its ability to prevent the opponent from using Berries, thanks to Florges' “Unnerve” ability. And while it may lack some Base Attack, it makes up for it with a strong Special Defense stat (154).
