A newPokemon Scarlet and Violetdistribution event will begin soon and trainers will have an opportunity to add a special Lechonk to their team. The news arrived just asPokemon Scarlet and Violetprepare to unleash a new seven-star Tera raid boss in the games along with continued bug fixes and updates. This weekend,Pokemon Scarlet and Violettrainers will have their teams tested, as Samurott the Unrivaled will arrive as aseven-star Tera raid bosswith the Bug-type as its Tera-type. With a wide variety of potential moves at its disposal that can counter nearly any threat, Samurott may be one of the toughest challenges for high-levelPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers to date. This weekend will also host a new distribution event for Pokemon fans who can claim a new Pokemon to add to their team.RELATED:Thieves Steal $1 Million Worth of Pokemon Cards and Other CollectiblesStarting this Friday, March 31, GameStop will host a special distribution event that will grantPokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers a code that they can use to claim a Lechonk with the Flying-type as its Tera-type. The code is good until June 04, 2025, which will give trainers three months to redeem it. No purchase is required to claim the code, but any interested players must visit a physical GameStop location and ask for a code while supplies last. Even though the Hog Pokemon is among the most common Normal-type Pokemon in the Paldea region,Lechonk has become a fan favoritefor both its name and its endearing image. While it likely will not win too many high-level battles, Lechonk and its evolution Oinkologne can be helpful for new trainers just getting started inPokemon Scarlet and Violet.

The distribution of Lechonk also lines up with the release ofthe newPokemon Scarlet and Violet: Paldea EvolvedTCG set, which will include a special Lechonk promo card for GameStop customers that spend $15 or more in a single purchase while supplies last. However, the timing of the Flying Lechonk distribution event may seem a bit odd. As keen-eyedPokemonfans pointed out on social media, the Lechonk distribution event coincides with April Fools' Day weekend. Fans also compared the Flying Lechonk to the “flying pig” trope, which serves as a traditional analogy for when something deemed impossible actually happens and leaves doubters in disbelief.

While the distribution event is no joke, that has not stopped Pokemon from makingsilly jokes to coincide with April Fools' Dayin the past. Only time will tell what else The Pokemon Company and other game companies have up their sleeves for April Fools' Day weekend.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare available now for Nintendo Switch.
