However, OnePlus has increasingly become a part of the conversation, offering a line of well-made, high-quality phones at a lower price than its competitors. One of the latest offerings from OnePlus is theOnePlus 12R, which has multiple variations to choose from, including a phone themed entirely around the hugely successful HoYoverse action-RPGGenshin Impact.
Genshin Impactfans will get a kick out of the sleek “Electro Violet” design of this particular OnePlus 12R, inspired byfive-star Electro character Keqing.Genshin Impact’s Keqing is also represented on the phone’s timeout screen, which features a clock adorned with a violet Electro symbol. The default lock screen for the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition is an animated Keqing, while the default background features similarly-themed artwork.
Keqing is everywhere on this special edition OnePlus 12R, with the phone’s entire UI inspired by her as well. The Photos app is represented by a chibi Keqing, while the Settings, Weather, Notes, Calculator, and Camera apps have also gottenGenshin Impact-inspired makeovers. Users even have the option of using Keqing voicelines for ringtones and alarms. These are all nice touches that help the device really feel like a “Genshin Impactphone,” and should please hardcore fans of the HoYoverse action-RPG, especially if Keqing is one of their favorite characters from the game.
With this being the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition, it only made sense to test the phone’s capabilities by playingGenshin Impactitself. As one might have expected,Genshin Impactruns phenomenally on the OnePlus 12R, with brightly-colored visuals on the 120Hz ProXDR Display and zero performance issues in our testing. It’s safe to say that the OnePlus 12R shouldn’t have any problems running any otherAndroid mobile gameseither, making it an ideal phone for mobile gamers that want top-of-the-line performance but don’t want to spring for an iPhone 15 or Google Pixel 8.
Of course, the OnePlus 12R has many uses beyond gaming. It boasts a Sony IMX890 camera that is perfectly capable of capturing high-quality photos and videos, though there are certainly phones with better cameras out there. Audio quality is superb, and paired with its gorgeous screen, makes it an ideal device forwatching Netflixor taking video calls.
Everything That Comes With the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition Phone
It’s true that the OnePlus 12R isn’t the most powerful phone available, which is reflected in its relatively low price, but this fact also seems to have had a positive impact on its battery life. Leaving the phone on overnight only lost 10% charge in our testing, and it’s unlikely to need a charge even when actively using it throughout the day. While mileage may vary depending on screen brightness and what apps are being used, most OnePlus 12R users can expect a fully-charged phone to last an entire day with some charge left over.
Even when it comes time to charge the OnePlus 12R, the device charges so incredibly fast that it’s hardly an inconvenience. TheOnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Editioncomes with the Glinted Lightning-themed 80W SUPERVOOC Power Adapter and Fast Charging Cable that can charge the phone from 0% to 100% in roughly 30 minutes.
There are two versions of the OnePlus 12R currently available on the market. The cheaper alternative costs $500 and offers 8GB RAM with 128 GB of storage, whereas the pricier version typically retails for $600 and offers 16 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage. The OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition offers a phone equivalent to the latter, but costs $649.99 thanks to the customGenshin Impactdesign and everything else that comes in its fancy collectible gift box.
While the phone itself is the main selling point, there are other goodies that come with the purchase of the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition. The device is sent in a gift box that includes a phone stand, chibi stickers, a poster, badges, and a stand ornament, all themed after Keqing. It’s all well-made stuff, and it’s easy to see how the full set could very well become a hot-ticket collector’s item forhardcoreGenshin Impactfans, especially when it eventually sells out.
ForGenshin Impactdiehards looking to get a new phone, it makes a lot of sense to spend the extra $50 or so to get the OnePlus 12R Genshin Impact Edition. Non-Genshin Impactfans looking for a new phone that aren’t interested in the latest batch of Apple and Google products can’t go wrong with a regular OnePlus 12R or aregular OnePlus 12. These are excellent Android phones at great prices that are capable of doing basically anything one would want their phone to do, and at a lower price than much of the competition.
