Nintendo has a tendency to give fans very little advanced notice for its Nintendo Direct presentations, and the latest one is no different. Earlier today,Nintendoconfirmed that the next Nintendo Direct presentation will be another Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase, focused on third-party games coming to the Switch. The next Nintendo Direct Mini will take place on Thursday, September 17 at 7am PT, but it remains to be seen exactly which games will be showcased.

The previousNintendo Direct Miniincluded some pretty big announcements, like theShin Megami Tensei 3remaster and the new look at the highly-anticipatedShin Megami Tensei 5. It stands to reason that the next Nintendo Direct Mini will have some pretty big announcements as well, and there are some possibilities that seem more likely than others.

Here are our predictions for the Nintendo Direct Mini: Partner Showcase that’s currently scheduled to take place on Thursday, September 17 at 7am PT.

Mass Effect Trilogy Remastered

Rumors have been swirling for months that Electronic Arts and BioWare plan on releasingMass Effect Trilogy Remastered, a remastered collection of the first threeMass Effectgames, for modern platforms. The rumors have mostly focused on the trilogy coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but a recent retail listing has leaked the existence ofMass Effect Trilogy Remasteredfor Switch as well. Considering this, and the leaked release window of October 2020, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to seeMass Effect Trilogy Remasteredannounced during the Nintendo Direct Mini.

Monster Hunter

AestheticGamer, aka Dusk Golem, is known for accurately leaking information about Capcom’sResident Evilfranchise. But recently, they have also been teasing that aMonster HunterSwitch announcement will be happening sooner rather than later. All that’s been said about this supposedMonster HunterSwitch gameis that it is not a port ofMonster Hunter World, and that it will be announced before Tokyo Game Show. Since Tokyo Game Show is set to kick off next week, it seems as though the Nintendo Direct Mini is the perfect opportunity to announce the game, whatever form it takes.

Ninja Gaiden

Last week, a Chinese retailer leaked the existence of aNinja Gaiden Sigmatrilogy collection. Presumably, this collection would bring together theNinja Gaiden Sigma,Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, andNinja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edgein one package for the Switch. Nintendo has had a long relationship with theNinja Gaidenfranchise and publisher Tecmo Koei, with the original release ofNinja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edgebeing a timed-Wii U exclusive. Considering how closely tied theNinja Gaidenfranchise is with the Nintendo brand, it would make sense for such a collection to be announced at the next Nintendo Direct Mini.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

While Nintendo has said that the next Nintendo Direct Mini will focus on third-party games, there’s still a chance that it could also be used to reveal the nextSuper Smash Bros. UltimateDLC fighter. PastSuper Smash Bros. UltimateDLC fighters have been third-party characters, and there are rumors thatRyu Hayabusa fromNinja Gaidencould even be coming to the game. if the rumors about theNinja Gaidencollection are true, then confirming Ryu forSmashseems even more likely.
