The next Tera Raid Event forPokemon Scarlet and Violethas been confirmed to feature two pseudo-legendaries found in the Paldean pokedex. Throughout the event,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetplayers will be able to find special raids containing either Hydreigon or Dragapult, depending upon which version of the game they own.As is the case for most titles within the franchise,Pokemon Scarlet and Violetcontain several version exclusive Pokemon, meaning players have to trade with others in order to eventually complete their Pokedex. Among these are pseudo-legendaries Hydreigon and Dragapult, two of the stronger critters found throughout thePokemon Scarlet and VioletPokedex, and who will be obtainable en masse throughout the duration of the event - but only in their respective games.RELATED:New Discovery About Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raids Makes Shinx An Unlikely HeroThe Hydreigon and Dragapult Tera Raid Event will begin 00:00 UTC, June 23, 2025, and last until 23:59 UTC, July 18, 2025. During this time, players may find Hydreigon (Pokemon Scarlet) or Dragapult (Pokemon Violet) more frequently in Tera Raids scattered throughout Paldea, allowing players to catch these strong Pokemon outright instead of having to level up and evolve their pre-evolutions. Before players get too excited, however, if thePokemon Scarlet and VioletSalamence and Tyranitar Tera Raid Eventswere anything to go by, this event will not feature Herba Mystica as a possible reward. The main reward will likely be the ability to catch these rare Pokemon in the first place.
Hydreigon and Dragapult will be able to appear in four and five-star raids throughout the duration of the event, meaning they have the chance to possess their Hidden Abilites. While all Hydreigon are guaranteed to possess Levitate due to it being the species' only possible ability, Dragapult found inPokemon Scarlet and VioletTera Raidshave the possibility to possess the Hidden Ability known as Cursed Body. While Cursed Body is by no means the outright strongest ability Dragapult may have, the possibility of it existing allows for some useful mind games when battling others.
Though this event will likely not be anywhere near as difficult as the seven-starPokemon Scarlet and VioletCinderace Tera Raid Event, Hydreigon and Dragapult remain two respectable Pokemon with incredibly high base stats that lead to them being a sizable threat in competitive play - though Dragapult’s flexibility and oft unparalleled speed tier results in it being traditionally superior when compared to Hydreigon, who is plagued by a crippling 4x weakness to Fairy.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare available now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
