In just over two weeks' time,Mortal Kombat 11fans will get their very first look at the game’s next DLC character, Spawn, in action. Indeed, aSpawn gameplay traileris set to be revealed on March 8 at Final Kombat 2020, and many players are certainly very excited to see it. However, some light details about Spawn have already begun to trickle out in preface of this full reveal, and that includes the character’s officialMortal Kombat 11bio, which has just surfaced online.

ThisMortal Kombat 11Spawn bio was recently posted on the PlayStation Store, and it will definitely feel familiar to fans of the legendary comic book character. It begins by describing Al Simmons as “the U.S. government’s greatest soldier and most effective assassin”  – a man who was ultimately “executed by his own men.” This did not keep Simmons down, though, as an “agreement with the powers of darkness” allows him to be reborn as a Hellspawn.

It is at this point that the bio looks to connect Spawn toMortal Kombat 11, and it does so very simply, saying, “Now he is thrust into the world ofMortal Kombatwhere he will fight for supremacy against all Kombatants.” While some fans may have liked a more elaborate backstory to justify Spawn’s appearance as anMK11DLC fighter, this straightforward approach at least maintains the character’s established history, and that may indeed be preferable.

With respect to other details that have thus far been shared about Spawn, a brand new action figure from MacFarlane Toys recently gave players an idea of the character’s general design inMortal Kombat 11. This 7" figure also seemingly revealed one ofSpawn’s gear pieces inMK11, a brutal-looking sword, and the rest of his customizable cosmetics are likely to be confirmed just after the release of the aforementioned gameplay trailer.

Additionally,Spawn’s voice actor inMortal Kombat 11was revealed to be Keith David several months ago. David previously voiced Spawn in the animated series from 1997, and while details about the character’s voice are perhaps not as exciting as information on his combat abilities, they may at least temporarily sate those fans that have their eyes steadily fixed on Spawn’s early access release date, which is scheduled for March 17.

Mortal Kombat 11is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, Switch, and Xbox One.
