Miitopiatook the JRPG genre in an interesting direction. While its simplistic combat and stat-management make itvery beginner-friendly, the adventure the game takes players on is a long one. What many would assume to be the end of the game turns out to barely be the halfway point. Furthermore, even after the credits finally roll, the world opens up even further for an expansive post-game.

Naturally, this leads to somewhat of a complex map. While the game is linear in its progression, it never stops players from backtracking to re-explore previous areas, where theymay find secretstucked away that they never discovered before.
10True Nightmare Tower - It’s Different, But It’s The Same
After defeating the Dark Lord at the game’s mid-point, the game world is revealed to be much larger than players may have originally thought. The first area players are directed towards is the Traveller’s Hub, where Miis from all over the world gather for adventure.
Here, players will be able to accept a number of quests from the Miis there, several of which take them to harder versions of dungeons they have already defeated. The first of these is the True Nightmare Tower in Greenhorne, the game’s opening area. The interior layout is randomized each time the player revisits it and can house enemies of up to Level 50.

9Galados Isle - An Untouched Island Paradise
After defeating the Darker Lord, the true final boss ofMiitopia’s story, two new areas appear for players to explore. The first of these, which players will be directed towards, is the Galados Isle for their first taste of what the post-game can offer.
Being a post-game area, this island is filled with a host of tough enemies and some intimidating bosses. These include Medusa, a UFO, or even Cerberus. Along with this comes four different biomes for variety and a handful of permanent & temporary dungeons to give players a challenge.

8New Lumos - A Sprawling Metropolis
A densely built-up city area, New Lumos is a far cry from anything else the player has seen in the game up until now. The second area that becomes availing in the post-game ofMiitopia, New Lumos trades the fantasy setting of cute villages and happy sunshine for the eternal night and constant rain in a city of neon and concrete.
The city is split up into eight districts, each of which gets progressively more challenging for players to navigate. Each district acts more like a gauntlet of stages before facing off against one of eight unique bosses, all of which are sure to keep players occupied for a while.

7Greenhorne Chest - A Path That Requires Opening
Throughout every area ofMiitopia, players will see chests dotted about the overworld. Their tempting presence will no doubt push players to claim their goodies as soon as possible, but for some chests, that is a feat easier said than done.

Some chests around the world require extra tasks to be done before the chest can be obtained. The first of these players will encounter is the chest just in front of Greenhorne castle. This path seems completely locked off until players go through the level just above it. There, players will be presented with a lever and asked whether they want to pull it. Pulling the lever reveals the path to the chest.
6Karkaton Chest - Walking Through The Air
Pulling a lever to access a chest sounds simple enough, which is why the developers ofMiitopiacame up with alternate ways to hide chests from players. In Karkaton, just before players reach the Dark Lord’s castle, a chest will be floating seemingly in the middle of nowhere on the overworld.
Talking to the Worried Explorer nearby will tell players to “find the hidden path” with no context for what this means. Players may assume this is another case of finding a lever to uncover the path, but this is not the case. In fact, the path is already unlocked. It’s just invisible. While it may seem like there is no path, if players go north from the Worried Explorer’s location, their party will walk up the path and towards the chest.

5The Secret Grotto - Become An Elf
As well as Galados Isle holding new areas for the players to explore, it also hides one of the game’s more exciting secrets. Push through all the island’s areas to the very end, and players will enter the Secret Grotto, where the island’s treasure lies.
Defeating the boss in this area will grant the Elf Charm, which unlocksthe Elf Job. This job grants cute pointy ears and outfits, as well as serving a useful purpose as a jack-of-all-trades job. With strong physical and magical attack, as well as potent healing abilities, an Elf will slot perfectly into any role in the party.

4Manor Macabre - Become A Vampire
Peculia is one of the more memorable areas inMiitopiadue to its unconventional aesthetic and portals that hop between areas. So it seems only fitting that such an area should be home to the haunted Manor Macabre, which will become available upon accepting a quest from a Vampire in the Traveller’s Hub.
Defeating its boss for the first time grants the player the Bat Charm, which unlocks the Vampire Job. One of the most powerful classes in the game, the Vampire focuses on powerful magical attacks and stealing HP. Having a Vampire in the party is vital if players want to hit as hard as possible.

New Lumos' eight bosses each bring something new to the table, and players may find value in bringing different parties to defeat each of them. However, the Tower of Dread takes away this luxury for players, offering the toughest challenge yet.

The Tower of Dread is a boss-gauntlet of all eight of New Lumos' previous bosses. This tower offers no rest in Inns between battles, meaning swapping party members is impossible. Additionally, the beneficial Sprinkles are no restored between battles, meaning players must have a powerful team, avoid mistakes, and the ability to manage their resources effectively.
2Tower of Despair - A Even More Mancing Gaunlet
Exclusive to theNintendo Switch versionofMiitopia, the Tower of Despair unlocks after players have conquered the Tower of Dread and offers an even tougher challenge. This tower pits players up against elite & glowing versions of bosses throughout the game, leading the community to nickname it the “Tower of Gods”.
Like the Tower of Dread, this tower does not allow players to change their party, rest at the inn or restore their sprinkles between battles. This is a challenge that requires players tohave masteryover the game’s combat mechanics and how to exploit enemy weaknesses. However, the greatest challenge lies at the tower’s apex.

1The Boss Snurp - One Snurp To Rule Them All
The Snurps are one of the more whimsical creatures in Miitopia. Their small, spherical body, combined with their long snouts and wide eyes, make them a cute creature to encounter. They are also a unique creature to battle, with different types of snurp being extremely strong in different ways.
So, when designing an ultimate final boss for the Nintendo Switch version ofMiitopia, a new type of Snurp was the obvious candidate. Waiting at the top of the Tower of Despair, the Boss Snurp has the highest HP in the game at 15,000 and one of the highest attack stats too. This 3-phase boss fight will pummel players like never before, and any who defeat it can rank themselves among the best of the best atthis awesome JRPG.
