Summary
Over the years inJJK, fans have seen quite a lot of incredible sorcerers and, of course, two out of them all have stood out the most. These two are, of course,Ryoman Sukuna, the strongest sorcerer in history, and Gojo Satoru, the strongest modern sorcerer. These two incredible sorcerers were very close to each other in terms of strength and a battle between them could have gone either way.
However, when they fought in Shinjuku, the circumstances required Sukuna to defeat him and, thanks to the incredible advantage that he held, he was able to accomplish this, getting rid of the strongest modern sorcerer eventually. Having lost Gojo, the modern sorcerers are surely not as strong, however, there are certainly shining gems in there as well. After Gojo, the strongest modern sorcerer in JJK is, by far, Yuta Okkotsu.
Yuta As Gojo’s Successor
Yuta and Gojo have quite a lot of historyas the former has been raised by Gojo as his successor in more ways than one. When Gojo joined Jujutsu Tech, he did so with the goal of raising the next generation in order to achieve the world that he wanted. Gojo was far from the perfect teacher, however, even with his methods, his students found quite a lot of incredible lessons. By taking them in and using that to make full use of their own powers, they were able to blossom into fantastic sorcerers.
Furthermore, there are some characters whom Gojo paid special attention to. These characters are, of course, the likes of UG Itadori, and others, such as Yuta. When it comes to Yuta, fans and all that these two characters hold a very special bond. Gojo was the one who claimed responsibility for Yuta when he first joined Jujutsu Tech and he was the one responsible for Yuta finally gaining a grasp over his powers and understanding Rika, to begin with. Following that, thanks to tremendous training under Gojo, Yuta reached incredible levels as a fighter. As a special grade sorcerer, Yuta stood side by side with Gojo and their training only made him even stronger, as has been claimed by Yuta himself.
The closeness of these two characters has been hinted at in the story on many occasions. For instance, when Gojo was sealed, he had already issued orders to Yuta to protect Itadori from harm. Furthermore, Gojo himself believed that Yuta had the potential to one day reach a similar level of strength as him, which, once again, shows that he had a lot of faith in this amazing budding sorcerer.
Yuta certainly has not disappointed Gojo and has reached an incredible level of strength and, currently, his battle against Sukuna has done a great job improving that he is, by far, the greatest more than sorcerer after the death of his mentor, Gojo.
Yuta’s Domain Expansion – Authentic Mutual Love
JJKchapter 249 finally gave fans a glimpse ofYuta Okkotsu’s Domain Expansion.As fans know already, Domain Expansions are the pinnacle of Jujutsu Sorcery and the strongest technique that one can have up their sleeve. For Yuta, this is no different and it is clear for the fans to see that his Domain Expansion is the strongest trump card that he has up his sleeve. In an attempt to defeat Sukuna as quickly as possible, Yuta utilized the power of his domain expansion, called Authentic Mutual Love. As soon as he expanded his domain, he dragged Yuji and Sukuna inside the domain with him. The inside of the domain is quite exquisite. It is lined with countless katanas, and Yuta himself stands on one of them. There are several strings knotted together, which signify bonds of love between Yuta and Rika. The more adversities they face and the more that these strings are tugged, the tighter the knots get, signifying that their love only increases.
When it comes to the incredible power of his domain expansion, it is tied directly to Yuta’s very own cursed technique, which is, Copy. Yuta can copy the cursed techniques of others and he can freely use them in battle, however, it certainly does come with some restrictions. Inside his Domain Expansion, however, there are no restrictions to what he can and cannot utilize. He can use his copied techniques indefinitely, which makes it an impossibly difficult ability to counter.
The working of this domain expansion is quite clear by now. Simply put, Yuta can apply the sure hit effect to any one of the cursed techniques that he has copied. This can be a technique that he has copied long ago or a technique that he copied 5 seconds ago. However, the sure hit effect cannot be applied to more than one cursed technique. All the other cursed techniques that Yuta has copied present themselves as katanas lined inside his domain expansion.
Each katana holds one cursed technique that Yuta has copied, however, Yuta himself does not know which katana holds what cursed technique. It is only after Yuta picks up a katana that he realizes what cursed technique it holds. Yuta can then utilize this copied cursed technique in battle, and once he utilizes it, the katana dissipates. Essentially, each katana can only be used one time. However, the cursex technique itself can be used indefinitely, because once the katana dissipates, the cursex technique can be utilized once again by picking up a katana that holds the same technique. Simply put, the technique itself keeps showing up as a katana lined up inside his domain expansion and can be used over and over again, as long as Yuta picks it up.
When taking into consideration the incredible abilities that Yuta has copied, one can see why he is the strongest modern sorcerer. Yuta has access to the power of Sky Manipulation, which he has used to break through Sukuna’s barriers with ease. He has access to the ability to see the future, which protects him from dangerous situations. If that wasn’t enough, Yuta also has access to shikigami, which he has used to great effect and, of course, one absolutely cannot forget that he can also utilize Cursed Speech. In his fight against Sukuna, he utilized cursed speech to hold Sukuna in place, who is the strongest sorcerer of all time. Even the strongest was bound by the power of this technique and Yuta did not suffer from many side effects either.
The more dangerous technique that Yuta possesses is Jacob’s Ladder, which fans know can extinguish the technique of anyone, no matter how strong they are. If this technique is used as a sure hit, one can then realize how dangerous this domain expansion truly is. Much to the shock of the readers, Yuta can even utilize Sukuna’s very own cursed technique. In his fight against Sukuna, Yuta utilized Cleave against the King of Curses, shocking him to his very core. Once again, if Yuta can utilize Cleave, then he can also utilize techniques such as Dismantle, or even the world bisecting slash.
What’s even more shocking is the fact thatSukuna implies that Yuta might have copied Gojo’s Limitlessas well, however, he discards this hypothesis, stating that he would require Six Eyes to make full use of this ability. However, knowing Yuta and his genius, he might have figured out a way around this as well and could potentially be holding Limitless up his sleeve.
Yuta’s Other Powers
While all this already makes him the strongest modern sorcerer now that Gojo is dead, there are other abilities that he possesses as well. His Reverse Cursed Technique is great enough for him to recover from Sukuna’s powerful attacks and boost his defense considerably. On top of all that, Yuta also has Rika to find alongside.Rika herself is known as the Queen of Cursesand is someone who could even overwhelm Geto in combat. Rika has grown considerably in strength since then and even Sukuna has trouble holding her down. Rika is quite clearly an incredible asset and when all this is put together, it is clear for fans to see that Yuta is the strongest modern sorcerer in Jujutsu Kaisen at the moment.
