Summary
Jujutsu Kaisenis a show with dozens of characters, all of whom are very distinct from one another. Within these characters, we can see that they all have unique personality traits that make them unique and memorable, as well as incredible abilities that also set them apart. There are some characters which are absolute powerhouses, some which are the brains of the groups, the murderous villains and the caring healers. One character who fits into the classic character trope of evil mastermind isKenjaku, or ‘Pseudo-Geto’.
The role that Kenjaku serves within the story ofJujutsu Kaisenis that of the extremely cunning and villainous character pulling the strings who was secretly the one to orchestrate the most significant turning points in the story, but without having the need to use brute strength to win out over the heroes. His real threat came from his planning and patient manipulation of events behind the scenes that changed the course of the entire narrative, causing fans to liken him to many similar legendary anime villains, such as the much beloved Aizen fromBleach.

Who is Kenjaku?
People often refer back toSukuna when speaking about ancient sorcerersfrom a bygone age, but the truth of the matter is that Kenjaku is just as old, if not even older, than Sukuna. Though there is some debate among fans of the series that he may actually be a curse himself, he is described in the story as an extremely old sorcerer who has lived for over 1000 years as a result of his innate cursed technique, body swapping. Though we don’t know what he actually looks like, many deem his ‘true’ form to be the brain with the mouth that resides in his victims' heads, as seen inJujutsu Kaisenseason 2, episode 10, “Episode 34”, where he reveals himself for the first time whenimprisoning Gojo in the prison realm.
His cursed technique that has allowed him to live for so long is a body swapping ability, wherein he somehow cuts open the head of a person and replaces their brain with his own, allowing for him to completely control this new body, as well as gaining both their cursed techniques and memories even if they were dead when he did so. He had done this innumerable times to be able to live so long and had also done this to Suguru Geto, which is the current body that he is in control of as per where the story is currently, both in the manga and the anime.
His character is defined ascold, careful, calculating and manipulative, but is also one that is incredibly powerful, to the point where he can be considered to be a huge threat for the heroes, being able to use Geto’s cursed technique perfectly, as well as being skilled enough to do a Domain Expansion. He is primarily defined by his knowledge and curiosity when it comes to cursed energy and how he can best harness and use it. This is seen throughout the story in flashbacks, where we have seen him in thebody of Noritoshi Kamoand Kaori Itadori.
Noritoshi Kamo was notorious in the world ofJujutsu Kaisenas the most evil sorcerer in history and while his own technique is unknown, he was very adept at making Cursed Womb Death Paintings, which are essentially half-human and half-curses and are very dangerous. His other known alias was that of Yuji’s mother Kaori Itadori, whom he inhabited in order to create the perfect vessel for Sukuna. Other than this master plan, he was also the architect behind theShibuya Incident, the Culling Games and the sealing of Satorou Gojo.
What is Kenjaku’s Master Plan?
Since Jujutsu Kaisen is still an ongoing series, we cannot fully know the extent of his plan until we see it, though we can theorize about what we know now. As stated above, Kenjaku is a genius and a master manipulator, and this is something that was seen during the Culling Game arc, where he was able to manipulate entire nations into feeding into his plan.
In short Kenjaku’s end game is to evolve the human species through a massive surge of cursed energy. The way that he goes about doing this is by convincing the United States to invade Japan under the guise of them being able to harness an unlimited supply of energy through jujutsu sorcerers. However, this act of invasion by the United States ends up withtheir entire army obliteratedby the vast amounts of jujutsu sorcerers and cursed spirits running rampant around Japan. As stated by Kenjaku earlier on in the same arc, all people, including non-sorcerers, release a massive amount of cursed energy upon their deaths. In luring the entire US army into Japan, he was able to release vast swathes of cursed energy into the world, which perfectly fell into his plan.
Kenjaku had stated that his entire plan had always been to optimize cursed energy and to accumulate enough of it to further evolve the human species by turning everyone into a jujutsu sorcerer or curse. However, this entire plan would not work becauseMaster Tengen told himthat he simply could not use Idle Transfiguration to do this because he lacked the cursed energy output. So, Kenjaku then choses to merge all the humans and curses with Master Tengen to form one singular, all-powerful cursed entity. Being the obsessive mad scientist that he is, what this does for him is that it will somehow unlock the very secrets of human potential and cursed energy, allowing him to know everything that he possibly can about both of these things.
All in all, this is the main goal for Kenjaku. However, many fans seem to theorize that along with this, he may also want to take out Sukuna so no one will be left to hinder his plans. Though they seem to be allies, Sukuna far surpasses anything that Kenjaku is capable of in a combat sense, so he may have been faking his loyalty to the King of Curses in order to get him to take outSatorou Gojo from interfering with his plans. With the 2 strongest characters being preoccupied with themselves, Kenjaku can more forward with his plans without any disturbances and once he forms an extremely powerful cursed entity, he could use that to kill Sukuna. That way, he would no longer be answerable to anyone, all tying up perfectly with his 1000+ year journey of fully optimizing cursed energy!
