Hogwarts Legacyfollows the journey of a young fifth-year student during their time at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The game kicks off with the protagonist traveling to the famed wizarding school, but when his relaxing trip is interrupted by an angry dragon, they are forced to make their way on foot.

After teleporting to and from a few iconicHarry Potterlocations, the protagonist eventually ends up at Hogwarts, where they are then promptly sorted into their house. When the next day dawns, they will be given the chance to explore the world ofHogwarts Legacyto their heart’s content, but certain areas are harder to find than others.
Updated August 26th, 2023: Players who want to explore every possible nook and cranny ofHogwarts Legacywill want to uncover each area throughout the school grounds. Some places are a bit more obscured than others, like theKitchen. Located near theHufflepuff side of the map, players will need to use a specific spell in a specific area tounlock the entryway to the Kitchen. To better showcase how players canfind the Kitchen in Hogwarts Legacy, the following guide has been updated with a video.
Exploring Hogwarts
Fans of theHarry Potterfranchise will likely encounteran array of familiar areasduring theirHogwarts Legacyplaythrough. A great deal of love has gone into breathing life into these locations, so it makes sense why dedicated fans would like to find them. Sadly, not all areas can be accessed at the beginning of the game; unlocking some requires the protagonist tolearn new spellsand complete various challenges.

The Hogwarts Kitchen is no exception, but players will already have obtained the means of finding it during their trip to Gringotts with Professor Fig. To find the entrance, all the player needs to do iscast Revelio in the right spot, but unless they were sorted into Hufflepuff, they likely won’t encounter the area too often.
How To Fast Travel
For players who have explored a great deal of Hogwarts and the world outside, they must knowhow to fast travel, as doing so will make returning to previously visited areas much easier. Given the size of Hogwarts, it’s quite easy to get lost, but having a few Floo Flames unlocked can help players get their bearings.
To unlock the fast travel feature, the player mustvisit a Floo Flame. Doing so will ignite the flame, while also giving players the option to teleport there whenever they wish. Though unlocking Floo Flames isn’t required to visit certain areas, it certainly helps.
Hogwarts Kitchen Location
Hufflepuff players will likely pass by the entrance to the Hogwarts Kitchen multiple times during their playthrough, but they might not notice it if they aren’t paying attention. These students will find the entrance at the bottom of the stairs leading to their common room, butstudents of other houseswill have to explore Hogwarts a little more if they wish to locate it.
The fastest way for other students to find the Hogwarts kitchen is to fast travel to theGrand Staircase, turn around, and descend the steps all the way down to the bottom. Upon reaching the lowest floor, they should then turn their attention tothe pear portraiton the left. A quick cast of Revelio will reveal this portrait to be a doorway that, when entered, leads to the Hogwarts Kitchen.
Inside, players will be given the chance to see what the House Elves of Hogwarts get up to behind the scenes. They can also find a fewField Guidespertaining to how the House Elves spend their time there.
Hogwarts Legacyis available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. PS4 and Xbox One versions will release on April 4 and a Switch version will release on July 25.
