Harry Potter’s school and classroom environments are one of its most popular features, as children and adults alike may fantasize about education in a school for witchcraft and wizardry. Now,Hogwarts Legacyis also set to afford players these preferences.
At Hogwarts, students are divided into the castle’s dormitory houses, which each reflect the student’s chiefest qualities, and are also able to have either a cat, owl, or toad as per their preference.Hogwarts houses have always meant something toHarry Potterfans, who could then ascribe to themselves their own preferred house based on desirable traits. Houses seem to play a significant role inHogwarts Legacyas well, and WB Games Avalanche has recently shared a close look at its new designs forHogwarts Legacy’s house crests.

The choice of which house players want is up to them inHogwarts Legacy’s unique take on houses and their designs. House badges for Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin are iconic, but WB Games Avalanche was able to design its own unique badges that iterate upon them while keeping their distinct iconography. These badges were also been designed as patches that could be sewn onto students' respective robes. The patches depict simplistic designs with intricate stitches for each house and its associable color palette and animal.
Each badge has a similar yet alternate shield crest, colored to represent its house; Gryffindor’s is red, Hufflepuff’s is brown, Ravenclaw’s is blue, and Slytherin’s is green. Likewise, their distinct animals are represented by Gryffindor’s lion, Hufflepuff’s badger, Ravenclaw’s eagle, and Slytherin’s serpent. These patches will likely be seen throughoutHogwarts Legacyand potentially on players' robes, but the default robes seen inHogwarts Legacy’s gameplay presentationcurrently have different patches stitched to them.
Further, WB Games Avalanche has announced that these house patches are available as “emotes and name badges” for fans inHogwarts Legacy’s Discord when they choose their desired house.Hogwarts Legacy’s houses and dormitoriesappear to offer players unique hubs for different playthroughs, where they will be able to access and enjoy their own house’s comforts. With a release window of this holiday, more is sure to be shared sometime this summer as fans continue to be excited forHogwarts Legacy.
