Post-launch support forHalo Infinitehas been a matter of significant controversy for fans of theHalofranchise.Halo Infinitewas pitched as a 10-year product, so expectations were comparable to other live-service games likeFortnite,Apex Legends, andLeague of Legends. Expectations have, understandably, not been met. One area of particular excitement was campaign DLC, expandingHalo Infinite’s story. While no official announcements have been made on that front, a leaker claims to have good news regardingHalo Infinite’s future campaign DLC.
YouTuber Sean W shared a video recently in which they claimed an anonymous source shared a surprising amount of detail regardingHalo Infinite’s future campaign DLC. To start, the leaker says that campaign DLC is in the works. However, development may not be progressing likeHalofans would have expected. Development may not have progressed as 343 had previously planned, either.

According to the leaker,343 Industriesis working on story DLC forHalo Infinite, but the decision is a surprisingly recent one. While a time frame wasn’t specified, the leaker says that there was a time when 343 wasn’t working on story DLC forHalo Infinite. Though that’s now changed, it’s obviously going to take a significant amount of time for the story DLC’s development to complete. The leaker says it’s unlikely to arrive until 2025 if not later.
Some details regarding the campaign DLC forHalo Infinitewere shared by the leaker, too. They say that the campaign DLC will be as sizable as what’s currently available inHalo Infinite, so it’s substantial. The campaign will focus aroundbattling the Endlesson what’s described as a “varied world.” A trademark leak in late 2021 did hint that 343 was working on something related to the Endless, though it’s unclear if the two leaks are related.
Obviously, there’s no way to know if Sean W’s leak is reliable or not. This entire leak could be made up and it could be years before official information becomes available to confirm it. There’s nothing in it that’s necessarily suspicious, however. And it’s entirely possible this has always been343’s plan, to release a sizable campaign DLC when it might have otherwise released a sequel.
Considering the state ofHalo Infinite,it’s entirely possible that 343 and Xbox’s plans could change by 2025. Perhaps the DLC could become a standalone game or aHalo Infinitesequel, or perhaps plans could change forHaloin a more dramatic way. At this point in time, it’s difficult to make any assumptions aboutHalo’s future, butHalofanshave a morsel of hope that 343 still plans to deliver campaign DLC sometime in the ambiguous future.
Halo Infiniteis available now on PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
