Game Rant recently spoke with Counterplay aboutGodfall’s big new expansion and why it should be worthwhile for fans of the looter-slasher game.
In a recent interview with Game Rant,Godfallgame director Daniel Nordlander revealed that the new Fire Realm area coming in theFire & Darknessexpansionwill be the largest in the game to date. In the baseGodfallgame, players are able to explore the Earth, Water, and Air Realms, with each area designed to resemble their namesake. TheFire Realm inGodfall’sFire & Darknessexpansionwill be no different, with players able to explore its “obsidian peaks” and “azure magma rivers.” Fans can count on the Fire Realm being brought to life withGodfall’s always-impressive graphics, and it will no doubt be exciting for returning players to see everything this massive new area has in store.
Those who have completedGodfall’s story will also have good reason to return, as theFire & Darknessexpansion is set after the events of the base game. Players will have to fight back against an “all-consuming darkness” that’s threatening theGodfallgame world of Aperion. The developers have teased that this new threat aneven greater challenge than Macros, who serves as the final boss of the base game.
TheGodfall Fire & Darknessexpansion is a fresh opportunity for the game to grow its fanbase as well as bring lapsed players back into the fold. The chance to explore the Fire Realm, collect new Valorplate skins, and fight new foes should be enticing enough for fans of the franchise, but there are other reasons to come back as well. “We are always listening closely to players and working hard to makeGodfallthe best game it can be,” Nordlander said. “We have implemented a number of community-requested features and will continue to keep an open line of communication with our fans.”
Godfallis certainly making fan-favorite changes with theFire & Darknessexpansion and the Lightbringer update. Fans can look forward to aGodfallPS4 port, the highly-requested matchmaking feature, and more when the update drops on August 10.
