By all reports,God of War Ragnarokis scheduled to release in November, with many believing that the release date reveal would be today. It seems that the announcement was delayed, for one reason or another, and this seeming delay came shortly afterCory Barlog askedGod of War Ragnarok fans for patience.

There are clearly several factors at play here, and whatever the delay, fans will learn it sooner or later. It does stand to reason that, ifGod of War Ragnarokis aiming for November, then it would be relatively soon. According to known insider Tom Henderson, it seems the announcement would have been in a blog post alongside details about the Collector’s and Jotnar Editions of the game.

He also adds that a gameplay trailer would have come sometime after, and perhaps—with this delay—all of this could come at once. That is largely speculation, however. It remains to be seen, but Henderson reports a few interesting items associated with the aforementioned editions. The Jotnar Edition is the big one, coming with a version of the game and a 1:1replica of Thor’s Mjolnir hammer. It’s not uncommon for statues to come alongside special editions of the game, but this would be really interesting nonetheless.

The other version is less detailed in Henderson’s report but does come with a few other goodies. This includes some badges and a map of the world. It sounds like the Jotnar edition is special and focuses solely on Mjolnir as the bonus, but other items are said to come with theGod of War RagnarokCollector’s Edition.

Since neither Sony nor Santa Monica Studio have commented on this, fans should take it with a grain of salt. It sounds like fans will be getting the release date, information on these editions, and a gameplay trailer officially relatively soon once the delay is resolved. While the eager anticipation is understandable, fans should still keep in mind and follow Barlog’s advice, be patient.

After all, all reports indicate thatGod of War: Ragnarokis not being delayed until 2023, and rushing this information now is not going to make it come out any sooner. It could very well be the biggest game of the fall and holiday season, so extra caution and getting it just right on Sony and Santa Monica’s behalf should be appreciated, not hated.
