A gamer gave theirXbox 360a gruesome makeover and made it look like a zombie console. First released by Microsoft in 2005, theXbox 360was the successor to the original Xbox console. While it was a big success for Microsoft when compared to its predecessor, the console also suffered from some technical problems, the most prominent being the dreaded Red Ring of Death.
TheRed Ring of Death, which refers to error codes that show a red light around the power button, is typically a sign that the console had stopped functioning. This was a common problem with the original Xbox 360, prompting Microsoft to extend the warranty and offer free repairs. The company also came out with redesigned models, namely the Xbox 360 S in 2010 and Xbox 360 E in 2013 which largely corrected the problem.

ManyXbox gamers who get the Red Ring of Deathusually throw in the towel and just get a new console. For Redditor quickershimmy, they added bloody details and scratches to their Xbox 360, and called it a “Zombie 360.” The console had shell casings glued to the surface to make it look like it was shot, and they wrote “DON’T OPEN” and “DEAD INSIDE” on the side.
In the comments, many gamers found the zombie-fied Xbox 360 amusing because quickershimmy used shell casings instead of bullets. One joked that whoever shot the Xbox 360 ran out of live ammo, and resorted to using shell casings to kill the zombie console. Regardless, there were still many who loved the redesign, calling it creative and the only Red Ring of Death they appreciate.
This is just one of the many ways the Xbox, be it the console or its box, could be customized. One gamergifted their fiancé a Xbox Series S with aHarry Pottermakeoverwhile another proposed with a customized Xbox controller, which they got from the Xbox Design Lab.
Despite the problems that the Xbox 360 faced in the past, there are still players who hold onto it for more than a decade because there were games that weren’t ported to current-generation Xbox consoles. It’s also become harder to access them afterMicrosoft ended backward compatibility for Xboxlast November after adding over 70 Original Xbox and Xbox 360 games to the Xbox One and Series X/S. So, players who still had functioning Xbox 360s might still find some use for it if they want to play older titles.
