InFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Materia can be placed onto a character’s weapon or gear, giving them access to a spell in combat, a boost in a specific stat, or a new passive ability based on the Materia equipped. Any Materia can be placed on any character, and with such a large supply of various Materia in the game, players have a great amount of flexibility in how they build their party.
Green Materia focuses on giving that character access to new spells, such as Fire,Revival, etc. If the Green Materia, Comet is arguably the strongest and should be equipped on at least one party member. Being such a powerful Materia, it’s obtained a good bit later in the game; here’s where to get it.

Where To Get The Comet Materia
To get the Comet Materia, players will need to progress to the final region of the game,Nibel.Nibel is reached at the beginning ofChapter 11,with players able toget the Materia from Chadleyin the Materia Development menu as soon as they arrive in the town of Nibelheim. Chadley is found in two places in this region, in Nibelhaim and at the Chocobo Sage’s Manor, but heading straight to Nibelhim is the easier and quicker way to reach him. To get Comet, simply trade Chadley40 Nibel Region Data Pointsin the Materia Development menu.
Every region has its own set of Regional Data, with Nibel Region Data only being obtained within its region. To get Regional Data, simply complete various World Intel within that region such as activating Remnawave Towers and scanning Lifestreams. Getting enough to unlock Comet may take a bit of time, but completing these activities will also give Party EXP and help players unlock additional fast travel locations throughout the region.

It is also possible to find and use the Comet Materiaduring Chapter 1, but all items found during this time are lost after the events of Chapter 1.
How Powerful Is Comet
Comet is arguably the strongest offensive-oriented Materia in the game. Comet and its upgraded form Cometeor deal massive amounts of non-elemental damage, keeping it from striking any weaknesses despite its fiery appearance. Its high damage does come at the cost of a lot of MP, along with a longer cast time that leaves your caster open to be attacked and interrupted. This Materia also requires3,000 APto rank up,and should often be paired with an AP UP Materia along with an MP UP Materia. While the overall cost to use this Materia is high, the resulting damage makes it all well worthwhile.
