As of the 2.0 update,NewPokemon Snapfeatures 234 Pokemon in total, including 11Legendary and Mythical Pokemon, 20Starter Pokemon,20DLC Pokemon, and all of the possibleEeveelutions. Many of the Pokemon show up in multiple courses, although some can’t be found until after players have reached a certain research level. Others, like the Legendary Pokemon, will only appear once players have completed the game.

With this in mind, players will need to complete all of the game’s courses multiple times, especially if they want to completely fill out their Photodex. By keeping track of which Pokemon they’re still to photograph, they can at least avoid any unnecessary expeditions though. At the time of writing, this checklist contains all of the Pokemon inNew Pokemon Snap, as well as each and every one of the courses in which they appear.
Updated on July 04, 2025 by Tom Bowen:The recent 2.0 update has helped to breathe fresh new life into New Pokemon Snap, with many players returning to the game to explore itsbrand new courses. Spread throughout the three areas that were added as part of the update are 20DLC Pokemon, several of which appear across multiple courses. Many of the Pokemon from the base version of the game also return, including the almost ever-present Magikarp and Vivillon, who between them feature in all but a handful of the game’s 30 courses. For those who simply gotta catch em all - on camera, that is - this guide covers every Pokemon in New Pokemon Snap and every course that they show up in.
