There’s no denying the immense popularity ofElden Ring, the latest FromSoftware action RPG.Elden Ringhas already become the biggest Steam launch in FromSoftware’s history, surpassingDark Souls 3andSekiro.
With many of the technical issues resolved, Bandai Namco is probably looking forward to breaking more sales records withElden Ring. In addition to astounding sales numbers, the game has also received favorable reviews from critics, mainly for its story and design. The game’s writer, George RR Martin,is also happy with positive reviews ofElden Ring.

Besides positive reviews,Elden Ringis on the road to breaking several video game sales and revenue records as time progresses. According to the numbers provided by GSD,Elden Ringhas seen the biggest Non-FIFAorCall of Dutylaunch in the UK sinceRed Dead Redemption 2. This includes both physical and digital sales. Moreover,Elden Ringsales are more than double last week’s biggest release,Horizon: Forbidden West. The fantasy RPG title also witnessed significantly higher sales than a few other renowned titles, likeCyberpunk 2077andAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, both of whom saw exceptional launches. Also, asElden Ringis now Steam Deck verified, its sales are only expected to rise in the future.
GSD also reported that digital downloads accounted for over 68% ofElden Ring’s sales and of those, Xbox and PC were the biggest platforms. On Xbox, nearly 85% ofElden Ringsales were downloaded, and while on PC, the figure was 73%. However, for PS4 and PS5, the download sales figures were below 50%. Moreover, 32% ofElden Ringsales were on PS5, 30% on PC, 29% on Xbox, and 9% on PS4.Famitsureported some additional information about the same. In their sales figures calculation between February 21 to June 22, 2025,Elden RingPS4 and PS5 versions secured the 1st and 2nd place. The game sold nearly 270,000 copies across both platforms, and cumulative sales for PS5 crossed 1.4 million.
The number of players rises exponentially each day, however, many gamers are finding it a tough game. Interestingly, Hidetaka Miyazaki, theElden Ringdirector is apologetic to these fanswho find the game very challenging.
