Dragonlord Placidusax is one of the most difficult bosses to find inElden Ring. Finding this boss requires first reaching the Crumbling Farum Azula, laying down in a particularly difficult to reach spot, and then appearing inDragonlord Placidusax’s arena. At its center is the sleeping boss.
For most bosses inElden Ring, the player will be provided with a Site of Grace or a Stake of Marika close to the boss arena, so that returning to the boss repeatedly after dying doesn’t take too much time. Dragonlord Placidusax, however, is one of the most frustrating bosses to die against inElden Ring, as players will then have to repeat the arduous process of reaching its boss arena located.

It is with this troublesome process in mind that a recent glitch discovered by a Reddit user named Ghosttenks becomes all the more hilarious and bizarre. The glitch is causedwhen two co-op players are in the sameElden Ringgame, but do not travel together to fight Dragonlord Placidusax. Usually inElden Ring, a summoned player will be automatically teleported with the host player after the host initiates the cutscene which transports them to the Placidusax boss arena, but this did not occur for Ghosttenks and their co-op partner. However, both players were evidently still registered as enemies by Dragonlord Placidusax.
The bizarre glitch comes to a head after the players enter phase two of the Dragonlord Placidusax boss fight, which begins with the boss taking off into the sky and tracking a single player to do a slam attack, similar to Radahn’s devastating meteor attack inElden Ring. However, since one of the players isn’t in the boss arena, Dragonlord Placidusax ends up teleporting out of its own boss arena in order to target the player located in the Crumbling Farum Azula.
The Reddit user’s hilarious clip first shows Ghosttenks inside the boss arena fighting Placidusax, and watching as they disappear into the sky to begin phase two, before cutting to their co-op partner’s perspective as they sit quietly at the entrance to the boss fight. The co-op player is then suddenly blindsided by attacks from Placidusax, who appears from nowhere. After a few frantic attacks, the co-op player falls off the edge of the platform, which is an all too easy way to die inElden Ring.
As pointed out by many of the commenters under Ghosttenks’ post, what makes this glitch hilarious is the story implication of the long-dead Dragonlord Placidusax teleporting from its frozen time space in order to kill one co-op player who was minding their own business, before immediately teleporting back again.
Elden Ringis available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
