The quest for the Warlord’s Ruin dungeon in Season of the Wish involves more than just stomping out the dead Ahamkara from the dreary dark age castle. Unlike other dungeons, this one comes with a full-blown, nine-step quest line that’ll haveDestiny 2players running through Warlord’s Ruin a few more times.

Dark Ether Tincture is a material associated with this quest chain, and players need 30 of them to make progress. These aren’t too hard to collect, but for those who want to bedone with this as soon as possible, there is a way to finish this quest step without even entering the castle. Here’s how to get Dark Ether Tincture in trueDestiny 2fashion.

How to Get Dark Ether Tincture in Destiny 2

The fourth step of the In The Shadow Of The Mountain quest, players will be tasked with collecting Blighted Wishing Glass, Hefnd’s bones, and Dark Ether Tinctures. The latter is dropped by glowing Screebs called Thieving Wretches, and several of them can be found skittering across the entire dungeon.

The first Thieving Wretch spawns on the snowy cliffside right at the start of Warlord’s Ruin, in the area before thefirst boss of the dungeon. Climb the rocky crags and cliffsides to reach the rope bridge leading to the first castle area. Players will see the Thieving Wretch as soon as they go around the bend, and it’ll attempt to run across the rope bridge and escape to the inner chambers. Shoot the wretch, and it will drop Dark Ether Tinctures as it tries to run away. For the cheese to work,do not kill it.

In The Shadow of the Mountain quest in Destiny 2

If all members of the fireteam die, they’ll spawn back at the beginning of the dungeon, and the Thieving Wretch by the rope bridge will spawn back at full health. Shoot it again without killing it, collect all the Dark Ether Tinctures, then jump off the bridge to reset the entire thing. Repeat for as long as necessary.

Players don’t have to cheese this part of the quest. As long as they find all the Thieving Wretches in the dungeon, they’ll have enough Dark Ether Tinctures to meet the listed requirement.Doing a full run of the dungeonis also more efficient as players will get to make progress with Hefnd bones and Blighted Wishing Glass. However, securing the tinctures early on means players won’t be pressured to chase after the wretches later, potentially saving them time should one of the glowing Screebs manage to get away.
