Bungie will forever be known as the developer who gave us theHalofranchise, but like every developer, they wanted to be known for more than just one game, which is why they decided to start work on a new IP in 2010, and that IP wasDestiny.Since launching in 2014, the franchise has had its struggles, but Bungie has managed to greatly improve the game by actually listening to their hardcore fans.

On June 9th,Bungie revealedits newest expansion,Beyond Light,and it is poised to beDestiny 2’smost ambitiousexpansion yet. Whenever a new piece of content is announced, fans begin to question what may be added or removed from the game to make it better in thefourth yearofDestiny 2.
10Hope To See: Real Transmog
Destinyhas always had impressive looking gear, but players have never been able to look the way they want to because Bungie has still not implemented a proper transmog system.
WithShadowkeep,a form of transmog was finally added to the game, but players could only apply seasonal ornaments to their armor and weapons, and as MMO veterans know, that is not how real Transmogrification works. During theBeyond Lightreveal, Game Director Luke Smith admitted that they were working on adding transmog, so there is a good chance we will see it in the coming year.
9Hope Disappears: Trials Of Osiris
In the original game,Trials of Osiriswas the ultimate PVP experience, as only the best players could go flawless and obtain unique gear from the Lighthouse on Mercury.Season of the Worthyfinally brought the game mode back, but it still suffers from the same issues.

It is insanely difficult to go flawless because Trials is dominated by teams compromised of clan members and friends who can communicate during matches, and if you try to find a team through the app, you will find players who only accept players with a specific KDA, or players who refuse to communicate altogether, which leads to a toxic experience.
8Hope To See: Uldren Sov
Uldren Sov took Cayde-6 away from us, and for that, he is still the franchise’s most hated villain. Several weeks after his defeat, Bungie made a cinematic available for all players, and featured a Ghost resurrecting Uldren in The Dreaming City, which means that he is now aGuardianwith no memory of his past life.
Bungie can do a lot with this story wise, as they could turn Uldren into a hero who replaces Cayde as the Hunter Vanguard.
7Hope Disappears: Eververse
Eververse functions just like any other in-game store, but whenBungiewas still partnered with Activision, they thought it was a good idea to lock certain items and armor behind paywalls, and this obviously did not sit well with players.
The Eververse has changed a lot since the release ofForsaken, and now that you do not even need to visit the vendor to access it, there is no point in having Tess Everis in the Tower anymore. Bungie should also look at scrubbing the word Eververse from the game entirely given its troubled past.
6Hope To See: Ana Bray Meeting The Stranger
The Stranger first appeared in the base game version of the originalDestiny,and after seven years, Bungie has finally decided to bring the mysterious character back into the fold by making herBeyond Light’s main NPC. Players may finally learn why she did not have time to explain why she did not have time to explain, but her appearance could have greater story implications down the line.

Believe it or not, Bungie hinted atThe Stranger’s true identityback inWarmind, where the in-game lore revealed that she might be Elsie Bray, Ana’s sister. Like every other Guardian, Ana lost all of her memories when she was first resurrected, so she would not know what actually happened to her sister, but Elsie would presumably remember everything since her mind was transferred into an Exo frame.
5Hope Disappears: Not Having Matchmaking For Raids
Aside from the Crucible, raiding is the best activityDestinyhas to offer, and although every player can access at least one raid, very few have actually completed one.Destiny 2has over19 million trackedGuardians but less than 3 million of those Guardians have completed a raid, which means that about 85% of players still have not finished a raid.
This sounds absurd, but these things happen when there is no matchmatching system for raids. Instead, players need to search for a team on an App or forum, which is filled with toxic and impatient players.
4Hope To See: Oryx
If you were to ask veteranDestinyplayers what their favorite expansion/DLC is, there is a good chance many of them will respond withThe Taken King, the expansion which essentially saved the franchise from ruin. The expansion focused on Oryx, a Hive God who came to our solar system to avenge his son Crota.
Ever since we defeated him in the King’s Fall raid, Oryx’s name has popped up numerous times, and with the 2021 expansion focusing on his sister, now would be the time to bring him back in some form.
3Hope Disappears: Hunters Using Tether In Mayhem
There will always be a debate amongstDestinyfans regarding class superiority, but everyone can agree that Hunters are the best class when it comes to crowd control. and it is all thanks to theirNightstalker subclass, which includes the Shadowshot super. The super fires a void arrow which drastically slows enemies while also cancelling their abilities.

Mayhem is a popular Crucible game mode because every player’s super regenerates ridiculously fast, but the entire match can be ruined just by having two or three Shadowshot Hunters on the enemy team, as their arrows completely negate other guardians' supers.
2Hope To See: Gjallarhorn
ManyDestinyveterans consider the Gjallarhornto be the franchise’s most powerful weapon, as players were able to defeat Atheon, the final boss of the Vault of Glass raid, with just a handful of shots. During the Thorn quest inForsaken’sSeason of the DrifterDLC, players got a glimpse of the powerful rocket launcher when they visited the Spider on the Tangled Shore, where it was called “The Midnight Special.”
Beyond Lightis going to be a massive expansion, and nothing will make veteran players happier than unleashing Gjallarhorn’s tracking cluster missiles upon elite enemies again.
1Hope Disappears: The Factions
In the lore, Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, and Future War Cult make up The Last City’s governing body alongside the Vanguard. In the original game, the Faction Rallies limited-time event was held quite regularly, but as far asDestiny 2is concerned, players have not seen the event for over two years, and according to game directorLuke Smith, there are “no plans to bring back Faction Rallies” because the gear is barely used.
Player engagement was also very low. This means that the vendors are literally taking up space in the tower for nothing.
