The story is a continuation of the characters and campaign set in place in the firstModern Warfare(2019) with Captain Price, Kate Laswell, and Ghost set at center stage. With returning characters from theoriginalModern Warfareseries, such as Soap and General Shepard, veteran fans of the series are left with a sense of tension, knowing what these characters were originally destined for.

However, with some plot changes, this new story stands alone whilst paying homage to the original series. The entire campaign was extremely fun to play through; however, there are some moments and missions that stand out from others.
7Kill or Capture
Kill or Capture is the second mission in the campaign and comes directly after the introduction of the main antagonist, Hassan. The player takes control of John “Soap” MacTavish, a returning character we’re familiar with from the originalModern Warfareseries.
The player fights alongside Ghost to infiltrate a compound to try and located Hassan. Unfortunately, a friendly helicopter is shot down in the process, and the team must protect the crew from oncoming attacks. This throws the player straight in the deep end and really sets the tone for the rest of the campaign.
6Cartel Protection
Cartel Protection follows Soap and Ghost after they meet another protagonist, Alejandro. Intel believes Hassan may be hiding in Mexico under the protection of El Sin Nombre, a powerful cartel leader who also has much control over the Mexican military.
Unfortunately, he escapes and the team is left fleeing from the military through the streets into the wilderness. This mission has someamazing scenic shots and viewsthat are difficult to take in quickly as Alejandro guides the player to scramble the cliff faces surrounding the town. This then leads straight into the next mission, Close Air, in which the player must provide air support for 141.
5Close Air
In this mission, the player must provide air support for Ghost, Soap, and Alejandro as they try to infiltrate another compound and locate Al-Qatala leader Hassan.
This really provides a sense of awe for the player as they embrace the full power of an air support craft with numerous levels of ammunition to take out buildings and enemy forces for the troops on the ground. The player must also be aware of civilians in the area to ensure there are no unwanted casualties.
4Recon by Fire
Recon by Fire is theiconic Ghillie suit missionthat mostModern Warfarecampaigns utilize. This mission really goes all out on the stealth aspect ofCall of Dutyand gives the player insight into how effective Gaz and Captain Price (voiced by Barry Sloane) work together as a unit.

This really brings the “All Ghillied Up” mission up to next-gen standard with lots of repositioning and player-dictated interactions to execute each group of enemies using the strategy the player feels best. This mission also contains lots of plot points with a huge twist at the end which helps to curate this mission into one of the best of the campaign.
3Violence and Timing
In this mission, the player will use Gaz to help right the wrongs of the previous mission and hunt down the enemy in a convoy. We also get the introduction of Nikolai from the previousModern Warfaretitle, an awesome character who is known for his piloting skills.
Violence and Timing was my favorite mission from the campaign, this one really has a bit of everything. Hanging out of a helicopter upside down in the middle of a car chase? Tick! Jumping from car to car, to reach the front of a high-speed convoy? TICK! This mission very much feels inspired by the ‘Just Cause’ series of games with some crazy action sequences.
2Alone
After the team is left abandoned, Soap and Ghost must fight through the streets of Mexico to safety using anything they can find. The game introduces new mechanics here. The player must get their hands on anything they can find (rope, metal scraps, tape, etc.) to get past the enemies.

This was a really fun change from the usual mission formulae and creates some extremely tense moments. There are definitely a few ways to complete this mission, so it’s definitely worthplaying through a few times.
1Countdown
This is the final mission of the campaign. With high tensions and a lot on the line, the team must infiltrate a skyscraper in downtown Chicago to locate Hassan and the final missing threat. ‘Countdown’ starts in a helicopter flying between the high-rise buildings of Chicago. The player fights alongside Captain Price who, at this point of the campaign, feels like the main protagonist with the player. The player must reach the correct floor of the building by abseiling down the side, taking out enemies on the inside as they descend.
Toward the end of the mission, Captain Price and the team must find the controls to a missile and disarm it before it hits its target and causes more chaos. Overall, the campaign is well paced at around 6-7 hours of playtime depending on the player’s experience and the difficulty they decide upon.Fans are responding wellto thisCall of DutyCampaign and they can’t wait for theadditional content coming laterdown the line.
