The mid-Season 4 update forCall of Duty: Modern WarfareandCall of Duty: Warzoneadded a lot of new content for players to take part in, withInfinity Ward’s released patch notesdetailing new weapons, playlists, and plenty of fixes. However, less publicly discussed are the elements that Activision and the developers on its ongoing first-person shooter titles have removed, such as the controversial Warzone Rumble mode.
Warzone Rumble was first added to the gamewhen Season 4 began on August 09, 2025, offering players an alternative to the battle royale that splits players into two teams of 50, offers automatic respawning without the use of its signature Gulag, and allows for custom loadouts. Many players reacted to the new mode less than amicably, in-part because its introduction appeared to replace other fan-favorite modes like Plunder.

However, there are other players who enjoyed Warzone Rumble and are upset to see it removed fromCall of Duty: Warzonewithout more fanfare — it isn’t mentioned in the June 29 patch notes or the Activision Games Blog post about the Season 4 Reloaded update. One Reddit user who goes by docslayer discussed the mode’s removal on the r/ModernWarzone subreddit, saying its Team Deathmatch style helped them get into the game as an “old-school"Call of Dutyplayer.
Even though Warzone Rumble was removed from the rotation of modes to play, new content has been added to replace it. The biggest addition in terms of both import and scale is undoubtedly the200-player battle royale mode for Call of Duty: Warzone, which is an impressive thing to imagine in concept even though its inclusion may not appease fans like docslayer.
While this new content fleshes outModern WarfareandWarzonetoday, content found in the games' codes following this mid-season update suggests there is a lot more to look forward to. Datamined information released by Discord group The Gaming Vanguard has indicated there will be new multiplayer maps, playable operators, and theintroduction of Verdansk Stadium coming in Season 5.
Whether or not this future content will include the return of Warzone Rumble is currently unknown, but with how oftenCall of Dutygames cycle through different playlists it’s unlikely Rumble will disappear forever. In the meantime, there is lots of content to tackle even beyond new modes like 200-player battle royales, such asunlocking a new skin for operator Yegor Novak.
