Call of Duty: Modern Warfarehas confirmed Ghost for the upcoming Season 2. Ghost is an incredibly iconic character in theCall of Dutyfranchise,one that fans have anxiously been awaiting since earlyoperator leaksrevealed that the character would be coming to the FPS game. Now, fans finally have confirmation that the character is on the way.
TheCall of Duty: Modern Warfaretwitter posted a brief tease of the character, revealing little more than the character’s redesigned mask. Up until now, fans have been clamoring for Ghost to be added to the game’s multiplayer mode, with many arguing thatGhost should be added in Season 2long before the official reveal. This marks Season 2 as a great new era for the game, one that will likely bring plenty of other content for players to enjoy- just as Season 1 did.

For those unfamiliar, Ghost originally debuted inCall of Duty: Modern Warfare 2back in 2009 and quickly became a fan-favorite character. Ghost’s death in the gameis one ofCall of Duty’smost shocking moments, one that many fans hang onto to this day. Seeing him finally return is a great moment for long-time fans ofCall of Duty,one that will inevitably see the character dominating multiplayer matches online.
Modern WarfareSeason 2 is bound to have other new additions to the game as well. It’s easy to miss, but the Tweet announcing Ghost appears to show a brief video of an oil refinery, which some fans have pointed out resembles Rust, one ofModern Warfare 2’s iconic maps. Fans have hoped that the newest iteration ofModern Warfarewill add Rustsince launch. With any luck, the map will be added to the game during Season 2.
Call of Dutyhas plenty of content in the pipeline for 2020, which Infinity Ward has teased quite a bit. Not all of it has been confirmed, but there’s certainly plenty on the horizon. Even those that dislikeModern Warfarecan look forward to the next game, though there are rumors that it’s experiencing a troubled development cycle. Hopefully, everything shakes out for Ghost and the next game.
