Developers Treyarch and Raven Software followed up the release ofCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warby bringing in a new version of fan-favorite map Nuketown.Black Ops Cold Warlaunched a Nuketown 24/7 playlist and Double XP event, encouraging players to try their hand at the junkyard-themed Nuketown ‘84, and many have been actively searching for all the content and Easter eggs it has to offer.
Arguably the biggestNuketown ‘84 Easter egg was leaked onlineby players who got early access: A trippy synthwave aesthetic can overlay the whole map if players shoot the heads off every mannequin across the map. However, Reddit user Mundoschristmas took to the r/blackopscoldwar subreddit yesterday to show off another fun secret in Nuketown ‘84; a classic Easter egg with a fresh coat of paint.

When activating the RC-XD (remote controlled-explosive device) scorestreak, players can run the deadly toy car through one of two holes in the map’s fencing to access an out-of-bounds racetrack. The secret track, complete with a big-air jump using a discarded door, was shown off in anaction-packed trailer for Nuketown ‘84 released last week. Now that players have full access, it’s a viable option to get some sneaky kills from across the map.
Having been a staple of previousBlack Opsgames, theRC-XD returning inBlack Ops Cold Warwas a big part of its marketing, and the scorestreak receiving a little extra love in Nuketown’s design is a long-standing tradition for Treyarch. Players who decide to use the RC track will have to find a good place to hide considering the extra time it takes to circumnavigate the battlefield, but the surprise explosive payoff is likely worth the effort.
Nuketown ‘84 is just the first post-launch map planned forCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and the new first-person shooter has other additions on the way too. More perks have been leaked forBlack Ops Cold WarZombies mode, and there will no doubt be content to coincide with itsCall of Duty: Warzoneintegration next month.
The game’s publisher also appears to have bigger ideas in the works, asActivision filed a patent for sharingCall of Dutyweapon loadoutson social media last week. In the meantime, players will continue to explore everythingCall of Duty: Black Ops Cold Warhas to offer, and hopefully its future maps will include as many Easter eggs as Nuketown ‘84.
