Warhammer 40k: Rogue Traderoffers players the chance toexplore and battletheir way around theWarhammer 40ksetting like never before. Taking control of a powerful Rogue Trader, the player soon surrounds themselves with an assortment of different companions, all with different motivations and varied combat roles.

For each of these playable characters, there is a large assortment of weapons that can be equipped for combat. From the iconic chainsword to devastating melta guns, each character can be armed to the teeth with unique weapons that perform different roles in combat. Some of the most effective weapons in the game areone-handed ranged weapons.

Shuriken Pistol

Here is one of the best of the commonly found one-handed ranged weapons in the game. The Shuriken Pistol is first used by Jae when she is recruited. In the first chapter, the weapon is an effective sidearm for companions and has a good damage output for a pistol.

The Shuriken Pistol has two attacks: the Pistol Shot (1 AP), and the Pistol Burst (2 AP). For companions other than Jae to use this weapon, they must have the Aeldari Weapon Proficiency skill. Later in the game, there is an upgraded version of this weapon.

Kabalite Splinter Pistol

The Kabalite Splinter Pistol is more commonly found in the late game, during the Commorragh section, and offerssignificantly lower damagethan many of the weapons available in this area. The pistol makes up for this with its two toxic attacks, Toxic Needle (1 AP) and Toxic Burst (2 AP), and with its high ammo capacity of 15.

The Kabalite Splinter Pistol is best used on enemies over time, utilizing its toxic attacks for maximum effect. This gun makes a good sidearm for melee-based companions but requires Drukhari Weapon Proficiency to use.

Foehammer

One of the best sidearms inWarhammer 40k: Rogue Traderis the Stub Pistol. One of the best versions of this weapon players can acquire early in the game is the Foehammer. With a higher damage output than a normal Stub Pistol, Foehammer is an excellent early option to equip.

The gun only has a single form of attack (1 AP). This attackcan be highly effective, as it works much in the same way as a shotgun and has the potential to knock enemies down.

Dead-Shot Stub Revolver

Similar to Foehammer, this Stub Revolver is a more powerful version of the standard Stub Revolver found inRogue Trader. While the Foehammer acts more like a shotgun for close-range damage, the Dead Shot is a more precise weapon with double the range.

The Dead Shot Stub Revolver has only one attack, Pistol Shot (1 AP), and works well as a sidearm for companions to finish off enemies. On top of this, the gun has an additional 15% hit chance, making the Dead Shot an effective and dangerous weapon.

InWarhammer 40k: Rogue Trader,one of themost effective weaponsin the game for close-range crowd control is the Hand-Flamer. This weapon is commonly found in the game, especially in Footfall. It can force enemies to dodge and move out of an engagement, becoming open to attacks of opportunity.

This stronger version of the Hand-Flamer can be found in the Dark Hideout in Footfalls Shadow Quarter and has a higher damage output than the standard Hand-Flamer. It offers two attacks, a Flamer Shot: Stream (1 AP) and a Flamer Shot: Spray (2 AP).

One of the most iconic weapons in theWarhammer 40ksetting is the Bolt Pistol. InRogue Trader, players can equip a stronger version of the Bolt Pistol, which is an effective close-range weapon.

Deadly Precision has a higher damage output than the normal Bolt Pistol. It has the same two attacks, Pistol Shot (1 AP), and Pistol Burst (2 AP). Where this weapon shines is with its additional 10% hit chance. This makes it a far more effective weapon in dangerous situations. To use this Pistol, the character must have Bolt Weapon Proficiency.

Plasma Pistol

One of the most effective weapons in the gameis theclassicWarhammer 40kgun, the Plasma Pistol. Found on Kiava Gamma, the (Retobi-Pattern) Plasma Pistol is a stronger version of the standard Plasma Pistol and can be found early in the game.

The weapon has two available attacks, a standard single shot (1 AP) and an area attack overcharge shot (2 AP). Causing high amounts of damage, this weapon can quickly take out enemies but also runs the risk of damaging companions. To use this weapon, the character must have Plasma Weapon Proficiency.

Elite Blast Pistol

This heavy-hitting version of the Blast Pistol is a highly effective weapon against groups of enemies. With one of the higher damage stats for one-handed pistols, it is the perfect sidearm for a companion.

The weapon only has one attack option, Darklight Blast (2 AP), but when it deals this much damage, a single shot can change the tide of battle. Players can acquire this weapon in Chapter Two during the Drukhari storyline. To use this weapon, the character must have Aeldari or Drukhari Weapon Proficiency.

Desolation Blast Pistol

The Desolation Blast Pistol offers higher damage than the standard Blast Pistol and is a perfect weapon for companions with the Drukhari and Aeldari Weapon Proficiency. Found in the late game, the weapon offers one attack, Darklight Blast (2 AP), which has higher armor penetration than the elite form of the weapon.

Additionally, The Desolation Blast Pistol has a 30 dodge reduction and works well over time on stronger enemies, as every hit from the weapon causes +1 stack of melting. This is a great secondary weapon for characters during the Commorragh section of the game.

Plasma Pistol

One of the best Plasma Pistols inWarhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, the (Sol-Pattern) Plasma Pistol, is found in the late game during Chapter 4. It offers two high-damage attacks to decimate the enemy, the Plasma Single Shot (1 AP) and Plasma Overcharge Area Attack (2 AP).

Like all Plasma Pistols, firing too close to companions cancause them damage, but when used effectively, this weapon can obliterate enemies. The Pistol also has an additional 10% hit chance and requires Plasma Weapon Proficiency to use.
