Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliancehas been delayed on the Nintendo Switch for an undetermined amount of time. It’s unclear exactly what the issue is, but there was apparently some kind of problem with the Nintendo Switch eShop that’s keepingBaldur’s Gate: Dark Alliancefrom releasing on the console. It will take “a few days” to fix the problem, and so those on Nintendo Switch will need to wait some time before they can play the game.

For those who missed the sudden announcement,Baldur’s Gate: Dark Allianceis a re-release of theclassic PS2-era game, but with improved resolution. Besides the increased resolution,Baldur’s Gate: Dark Allianceis more or less a straight port, so fans shouldn’t expect any new bells and whistles like online, though they can still play the game with friends in local co-op.

The re-release ofBaldur’s Gate: Dark Alliancecame out of nowhere, but it has fans hoping that that it will usher in the release of other Snowblind Studios games. A re-release ofChampions of Norrath: Realms of EverQuestseems to be pretty high up on the list of games that fans want to see, not to mention a re-release ofDark Alliance’s direct sequel,Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2. No such plans have been confirmed at the time of this writing, however.

It would make sense for a re-release ofBaldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 2to come at some point, though.
