Ever since the premiere of theAssassin’s Creed: Valhallatrailer, many fans have grown rather curious in terms of what kind of game it will be.Assassin’s Creedhas gone through manychanges and revisions in terms of game design, which have been met with mixed results. This have left many fans split in terms of what kind of game they prefer.

However, Ubisoft has confirmed the return of many staple mechanics from the franchise including theHidden Bladeand Eagle Vision. However, withAssassin’s Creed: Valhallait’s no longer Eagle Vision, but rather “Raven Vision,” as it were. The Ubisoft creative director, Ashraf Ismail, called it Synin, meaning “insight” in Old Norse.

With the player taking on the role of a Norse Viking, the Raven is a symbol that refers to the god Odin. As always, Ubisoft does an impeccable job of enveloping the player in whatever setting the game takes place in. It’s details like this that show that Ubisoft wants toexperiment with new material, while also staying true to what made the franchise so excellent in the first place.

Then again, not all of these changes are necessary for the better.Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, the latest game in the series, had a lot ofnew mechanicsthat most players found rather irritating and unsavory. It’s not clear whether or not those kinds of gameplay mechanics will be featured inAssassin’s Creed: Valhalla, but so far, everything that Ubisoft has shown in terms of this game is very promising.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhallahas no scheduled release date as of yet.
