APokemonfan and artist created some unique and intricate Poke Balls based on the Kanto region’s original roster. The artist then posted some of their works in a video on social media and received the attention and praise of otherPokemonfans for their efforts.

In the first generation ofPokemongames, the Kanto region was host to 151 unique Pokemon, with each having distinct characteristics that have remained mostly intact over the past three decades. Some of the most notablePokemon from Kanto appeared inPokemon Scarlet and Violetas well, with some receiving new variants in different generations. From Meowth receiving two regional variations inPokemon Sun and Moon, and again inPokemon Sword and Shield, to others such as Tauros receiving three different Paldean forms in the current generation, the influence that the Kanto region has on the greater world ofPokemongoes beyond its borders.

A Reddit user by the name of threerobots posted a short, 18-second video of some of the Poke Balls they created. The video was posted on the r/pokemon subreddit, with designs for Blastoise, Machamp, Meowth, Mewtwo, and Lickitung among the ones featured. However, threerobots posted all 151 unique Poke Ball designs on their YouTube channel called “Here’s Wally” forPokemonfans to take a look at.

According to the video’s story, the inspiration behind these fan-made Poke Balls was taken from another Kantonian Pokemon in the form of Ditto.Ditto can Transform into copies of other Pokemonthey see and is commonly sought after by Pokemon breeders for the purpose of making Pokemon Eggs en masse. Ditto has appeared in nearly every main seriesPokemongame to date. As a result, threerobots dubbed their creation the “Ditto Ball” and explained that the Ball, like the Pokemon it’s named after, takes on the likeness of the Pokemon that it holds inside.

The Reddit post received over 3.6k upvotes on the r/pokemon subreddit. In the comments, threerobots stated that they used Blender to make the designs for the “Ditto Ball” variants, but it remained unclear how long it took them to make each of the Poke Balls in question. However, threerobots expressed interest in making “Ditto Balls” based onPokemon from other regions such as Johtoin the future.

To this day,Poke Balls remain in use from Kanto to Paldeaand are a staple item forPokemontrainers around the world. While new, official Poke Ball designs are not as common an occurrence these days, that has not stoppedPokemonfans and artists from designing their own Poke Balls for their favorite Pokemon.
