The official launch ofBaldur’s Gate 3is just around the corner and with it will come key updates and the unlocking of the entirety of the story. Players have been getting all they can out of the game’s first act, as its early beta players have only been given restricted access to a small percentage of the final game’s content. Their patience will be rewarded whenBaldur’s Gate 3launches in early August for PC players, with all new features and in-game content for players to explore.
The launch of the turn-based RPG has beeneagerly awaited byDungeons and Dragonsfansas it’s been in development for years. Larian Studios promises will have full controller support and split-screen co-op, as well as cross-platform save-progression. However, early access progress cannot be carried over to the full game, which is unfortunate news for those who have invested time into the early access version of the game.

Baldur’s Gate 3’s Launch Will Bring a Big Update
In a recent community blog post, the developer announced the full list of features to be released with version 1.0 ofBaldur’s Gate 3, including new level caps, difficulty modes, races and subclasses, story content, spells, and feats.Baldur’s Gate 3will be a completely new experience with the launch update, and it’s a game that any gamer interested in RPGs should invest in, especially as it features turn-based combat and offers an RPG experience rarely seen in mainstream gaming.
Larian Studios announced there will be significant updates to character options, including two new races, one new subrace, one new class, 22 new subclasses, a new origin character, and a bunch of new companions. The new races will be the Half-Orc, a race of natural warriors who’ll stay in the fight using their Relentless Endurance and Savage Attacks to increase weapon damage, and Dragonborn, a race of Draconid-humanoids with a natural dragonbreath weapon and 10 subclasses based on color that will also determine the type of dragonbreath weapon used. The Dwarven sub-race Duregar Dwarf will also be a new addition.

New Companions and Classes are In Store For Baldur’s Gate 3 Players
The long-awaited Monk class will be added toBaldur’s Gate 3with three subclasses to allow players a variety of combat and play styles even within this single class. Additionally, every class will be receiving an additional subclass to choose once they reach level 3 at launch, with magic-users getting multiple subclasses to choose from. Players will get to know some new faces, including the Tiefling Barbarian Karlach whojoins the other Origin charactersat the start of the game. New companions include Halsin, Jaheira, Minsc, and Minthara, who will join the cast of characters available in early access.
Thenew subclasses for the magic classes are justified by the massive catalog of spellsavailable to them;Baldur’s Gate 3will feature over 600 spells at launch, including 51 new ones. The mundane classes will have the number of feats available to them more than doubled, with 22 new feats added at launch.
As the world and story ofBaldur’s Gate 3opens with the launch, the level cap will increase to Level 12, notably higher than the original cap of Level 10. There will also be two difficulty modes added in addition to the current Normal Mode: Story Mode and Hardcore Mode. Story Mode promises to give players more bonuses to make gameplay easier so they can focus on the story, whileHardcore Mode increases the difficulty on all frontsto give the player a challenge like none they’ve never encountered.
