Those working their way through the East Anglia arc inAssassin’s Creed Valhallawill inevitably find themselves withA Triumphant Returnquest to complete. This follows The Measure of a Norseman and asks players to interrogate a scout and infiltrate a massive castle.
This quest also takes players across most of East Anglia, requiring a mix of stealth and combat skills. For those players looking to continue their way throughthis region ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla, this guide is here to help.

Where to Start A Triumphant Return and Capture the Scout?
The Measure of a Norseman concludes on the island of Serpent’s Landing and automatically starts A Triumphant Return. Players need to make their way southeast and back to Northwic’s city docks. Waiting there will be Oswald as well asBroder and Brothir, the brothers begrudgingly supporting Oswald’s bid for the Kingship. Approaching these characters will begin the cutscene, and regardless of how this conversation goes, players will have to track down and capture a lingering scout.
Players should board the small boat near the docks, pilot it out the western gate, and dock it on the far bank. Right near the shore is the scout that Eivor is looking for, and players just need to deal enough damage to tie this enemy up and carry him back to the group in Northwic.
This will prompt another cutscene with aseemingly important decisionregarding this scout’s life, but regardless of choice, this enemy will be killed.
How to Complete A Triumphant Return
The next phase of this quest takes players all the way to thesoutheastern portion of East Angliato the decrepit castle with a pair of wealth locations. It is important to note that this place is basically only accessible from the west, and those heading directly south will encounter a large stretch of sea between them and their objective. Players will find the same group of allies hiding by the long entrance path to the castle.
The goal for this next section is to eliminate all enemies within this castle and light the brazier. There are over a dozen enemies scattered all over this castle, and the best approach is to walk along the ropes to the right of the entrance path and down to the secret entry point.
After moving a barrier and climbing up into the castle, players will find an enemy working nearby. From here, players should travel up the ladder to the north and begin taking out the guards on this level.
The key to avoiding a challenging fight is to sneak into the window hole of the upper portion of the castle and assassinate Woe-Bringer, a minor boss. Aside from this, once all enemies have been killed, players need only light the brazier that is near the northern edge of the castle.
This can be accomplished with a torch or even with one ofAssassin’s Creed Valhalla’s explosive arrows.
The following cutscene will then drop players into a wild escape from the castle in which they must protect their allies and run away. The path is relatively clear, but only if players move quickly.
